WHERE: More than 250 trees will be planted in the following parks this year:
Shoaff Park, Shoaff Park Golf Course, Northside Park, Buckner Park, Moser Park, New Haven and Matea County Park.
MEDIA NOTE: This is a great photo op, showing community involvement in the greening of Fort Wayne.
BACKGROUND: Created in 2002, the Great Tree Canopy Comeback is our community tree planting day organized by volunteers with Friends of the Parks and area parks departments to combat this critical loss of trees. Over the past ten years, we have planted more than 2,500 trees in our parks - it's the Great Tree Canopy Comeback!
