What’s Happening at the Botanical Conservatory in June

June Plant Swap

Saturday, June 2, 10 am – 11 am

Join other gardeners at the Conservatory for a free exchange of plants. Bring at least one plant to share. You can set aside extra seedlings, divisions, or full-grown plants of any type, then bring them down to swap for something new. Plants should be healthy, separated into “individual servings,” and labeled with either the common or botanical name.

Allow Extra Time for Sold Out Huey Lewis Concert 

The Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department urges those attending the Friday night concert at Foellinger Theatre, An Evening with Huey Lewis & the News, to allow plenty of time for parking and locating seats before the8 pm concert. This concert is sold out. The Foellinger Theatre doors and concessions will open at 7 pm.

Streets, Trees Top List of City Needs to Benefit from Recaptured State Dollars 

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Underscoring his commitment to healthy neighborhoods and an economically vibrant Fort Wayne, Mayor Tom Henry today unveiled key elements of his Restoration Funding Program. The $5 million neighborhood enhancement dollars are part of the $8.5 million in taxes returned to the City by the State of Indiana following its recent fiscal errors. 

These vital resources will be directed into two primary areas: 1) $3.5 million in transportation and related-infrastructure improvements; and 2) $1.5 million for the ash tree mitigation effort.

Mother’s Day Plant Sale

Fort Wayne, IN—The three-day plant extravaganza at the McMillen Ice Arena will once again take place over Mother’s Day weekend. The Botanical Conservatory is offering approximately 750 kinds of plants for purchase.There will be herbs, tomatoes and other vegetable plants, along with annual and perennial flowers and foliage plants, tropical plants for indoors or out, color bowls, mixed containers, and hanging baskets.
