Mother’s Day Plant Sale

Fort Wayne, IN—The three-day plant extravaganza at the McMillen Ice Arena will once again take place over Mother’s Day weekend. The Botanical Conservatory is offering approximately 750 kinds of plants for purchase.There will be herbs, tomatoes and other vegetable plants, along with annual and perennial flowers and foliage plants, tropical plants for indoors or out, color bowls, mixed containers, and hanging baskets. On Saturday, for the first time, there will be a special line-up of displays and how-to talks to help beginners and do-it-yourself gardeners. Local experts will be on hand to answer questions and will offer tips on how to grow fresh food at home, starting with soil care, choosing plants, watering, and fertilizing. This is the place for any level of gardener to bring their questions. The plant sale is a fundraiser for the Botanical Conservatory to support its public programs. Volunteers will be on hand to assist in plant selection and loading. Plenty of free parking!

Conservatory members are invited to enjoy the preview sale on Thursday, May 10, 4 -7 pm.
