Fort Wayne, Ind. — The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department invites citizens to the upcoming FREE Community and Family Engagement Night on November 19 at 5:30 pm. It will be held at Faith United Methodist Church, 207 E. Dewald St., and it is presented by the Cooper Community Center staff.

Citizens can take part in a community safety forum then enjoy a light meal along with games and prizes for the kids. These events are great opportunities for neighbors to meet and greet with each other and also engage with some Fort Wayne Police Department officers. The discussion topic for the event is “Keeping Our Youth Safe: Vaping, Sexting, Police Interaction, Apps and More” as these evenings are aimed at giving parents and caregivers more awareness and a better understanding of what local youth are faced with and what they can do to help keep them safe.

This free program is hosted by the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department, the Fort Wayne Police Department, Fort Wayne United, the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne and B96.9.
