Save The Date!

Promenade Park will open on June 21 - June 23, 2019! With the grand opening of Promenade Park, we promise amazing experiences in extraordinary places. More details will be shared in the coming months at RiverfrontFW.org.

What's Next Public Meeting

North Side High School Auditorium, 475 East State Blvd. (Enter at Door 1)

The Land Collective team has been sifting through public feedback and incorporating it into their work. They’ll be back on March 7 to share what they learned from the community, as well as provide an update on the progress of their work. Please join us!

Riverfront Citizen Science Series

New this spring is Citizen Science Sundays. Each Sunday will be a different project, each meeting at 10 am; all citizen science programs are free.

Watch the Wild

1st Sundays of the month, March 3, April 7 and May 5 from 10-11 a.m.

Lawton Park Trailhead, Clinton and 4th Streets

We will observe and report on plants, water & wildlife on our river and what seasonal changes are happening. Observations are collected and shared with the scientific community through Nature Watch. All ages are welcome, no pre-registration is required.

Bird Watching on Our Urban Rivers

2nd Sundays of the month, March 10, April 14, and May 12 from 10-11 a.m. * New time!

Lawton Park Trailhead, Clinton and 4th Streets

We will collect a bird count that is shared with Cornell Bird Lab that is focused on urban birds. The basics of learning to use binoculars and identifying birds will be shared. All ages are welcome, no pre-registration is required.

Young Naturalist Series

3rd Sunday of the month, March 17 and May 19 from 10-11 a.m.

Psi Ote Lower Pavilion, North Side Park, State and Parnell Ave.

Children ages 5-10 are invited to an hour of learning about nature, crafts and a fun themed snack. Class sizes are limited; pre-registration is needed to reserve space.

Project Squirrel

4th Sunday of the month, March 24, April 28, and May 26 from 10-11 a.m.

Lawton Park Trailhead, Clinton and 4th Streets

We will observe, collect data and share information with scientists about the squirrels found along our rivers. All ages are welcome, no pre-registration is required.

Riverfront Clean Ups
Citizen science doesn’t only happen on Sundays! On the first Saturday of the month we will join the volunteers with Riverfront Clean Ups, and collect any useful data for the Midwest Invasive Species Information Network. This is a regional effort to provide early detection and rapid response to invasive species. MISIN assists experts and citizen scientists in detecting, identifying and reporting invasive species. This program is through Michigan State University. All ages are welcome, and no pre-registration is required. Close-toed shoes are recommended.

Riverfront Educational Series

Monday, March 11, 6:30 - 8 p.m.

Hop River Brewing Company, 1900 N. Clinton and Fourth

Topic - "Building Our Future: Phase 1 Previews and Phases 2&3 Plans"

Riverfront Fort Wayne is again offering opportunities to meet the team involved with Riverfront development and learn more about plans for the future, including the exciting news we will have to share about Promenade Park, water quality updates, and brand new opportunities to enjoy our beautiful three rivers. The evening will feature a panel discussion at Hop River Brewing Company. Beer, cider, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as light snacks will be available for purchase. Hop River will offer free tours of the brewery before and after the event. This FREE event is family-friendly and limited to the first 200 people, so plan to arrive early.
