Kids’ Halloween Hike

Join us for a hike along Trillium Trail, a nature themed Halloween craft, and a spooky story by the fire. It will be even more fun if you wear your costume! Ages 5-10. Registration deadline: October 22. Min. 5. Max 15.

Fall Foliage Hike

Hike through Lindenwoood’s autumn beauty this fall. Spending time in the outdoors is a great way to cope with stress, relax and feel happier. Bring the family along for a fun family activity! We’ll meet at the parking lot and the hikes will commence promptly as scheduled. The hikes are free and open to all ages. No pre-registration is necessary. Night Hikes with the Naturalist

Night owls have several opportunities to join us for full moon guided hikes at Lindenwood Nature Preserve this summer! We will meet in the parking lot at the park entrance for each hike and will trek the Trail of Reflection under the full moon. The Trail of Reflection is wheelchair and stroller accessible for ½ mile from the trailhead to the pond, so hikers of all abilities are welcome. The hikes are free, however space is limited and pre-registration is required. People only, please. Pets are not allowed at Lindenwood. Registration deadlines: June 14, July 13, and August 3. Min. 5. Max. 25.

Themed Trail Hikes

Join us as we explore the four Lindenwood Trails, each with a different focus this summer. We’ll look for wildflowers, learn about oak trees, reflect on the sights and sounds of nature or just enjoy a quiet walk in the woods. It’s your choice. We’ll gather in the parking lot outside the park entrance and begin each hike promptly at 10:00 a.m. Please call Eden at 427-6008 for more information! The hikes are free and open to all ages. The Trail of Reflection is wheelchair and stroller accessible for ½ mile from the trailhead to the pond. No pre-registration is necessary.

Wild Walkers 2018

Wild Walkers is an adult hiking group that meets the second and fourth Fridays of each month for a walk on the wild side. Each hike features a different natural area in the region (parks, wetlands, nature preserve, etc.) and carpooling is available when necessary. Please call Eden at 427-6008 or e-mail eden.lamb@cityof fortwayne.org if you have questions.

Nature has so much to teach us and there’s no better way to learn than to experience it first- hand. Lindenwood Nature Preserve offers a variety of environmental education field trip opportunities varying from one to two hour pro- grams. For a complete list of programs, please visit Lindenwood’s page at fortwayneparks.org. Field trip fees are $2/participant/hour with a minimum fee of $20/$40 for 1-hour / 2-hour programs, respectively. Teachers, care givers and adult chaperones are free-of-charge.
