Aside from the trail closures or detours listed below, all of our trails are open!  The Maumee Pathway is open from Fort Wayne to New Haven but due to boardwalk damage near Landin Rd/Rose Ave there is a slight detour on a gravel access road in New Haven. The Fort Wayne section of the Maumee Pathway between Anthony and N. River Rd is very dusty.

Trail Closures or Detours due to Construction

SR14/Illinois Rd between Timberlake Trail and Scott Rd

April 10th until mid-June - The SR14/Illinois Rd Trail will be closed due to construction traffic and construction work adjacent to the trail.  Until the trail re-opens, please use the sidewalk on the north side of SR14/Illinois between Timberlake Trail and Scott Rd.

Temporary Trail Closures below Coliseum Blvd on St. Joseph Pathway

April through November 2014 - INDOT is widening Coliseum Blvd between Parnell and Crescent.  The project should not significantly impact the trail; however, the contractor will have to periodically close the trail underpass below the Coliseum Blvd Bridge when they are doing work above the trail.  The project will be complete in late 2014.  During the temporary closures, trail users can access the sidewalk on the east side of N. Anthony Blvd to cross Coliseum.

SR14/Illinois Rd between Glencarin Blvd and Carnegie Blvd

April through Mid-September 2014 - INDOT is installing a new bridge between Glencarin Blvd and Carnegie Blvd and will have the Illinois Rd Trail closed in this area without a signed detour.  This construction and trail closure will last until mid-September.

Maumee Pathway Detour - N. Anthony Bridge Reconstruction

September 2013 through May or June 2014 - The Maumee Pathway has a signed detour around the N. Anthony Bridge Reconstruction area.  Trail users will be directed to use the pedestrian ramp just north of the Hosey Dam, taking the sidewalk on North Anthony Blvd. to Cody Ave. At Cody, the detour runs east to Kensington Blvd., then south to Niagara Dr. At that point, proceed along Niagara Dr. to the access ramp where Pemberton and Niagara intersect. The ramp leads back up to the Maumee Pathway.  The detour will be in effect until reconstruction of the bridge is complete in May or June of 2014.

Upcoming Trail Closure

St. Marys Pathway from the Fairfield Trailhead south to Tillman Park

Mid-July through Mid-September 2014 - The St. Marys Pathway will be closed between Lower Huntington Rd and just east of the intersection for Tillman/Calhoun for a storm drainage improvement project.  Essentially, the St. Marys Pathway will be closed from the Fairfield Trailhead to the intersection of Tillman/Calhoun without a detour.  This project will start in mid-July and finish in mid-September.

lease be aware, during rainy times portions of the trail may be muddy and/or slippery. Please slow down and use caution especially on boardwalks.
