Meet Me at the Park

Meet meExciting news – NPRA has launched an impressive collaboration with The Walt Disney Company, including Disney Citizenship, Disney ABC Television Group and ESPN to expand Parks Build Community and demonstrate the value of community parks on the national level.

A national Public Service Announcement, "Meet Me at the Park," has run on national media outlets. 

NRPA couldn’t be more thrilled about this collaboration and the potential it holds to bring national recognition to the benefits and value of community parks and recreation everywhere.

In light of this campaign, the Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department is highlighting the following activities:

 "Meet Me at the Park"
 


...to explore a new park (check out the list of our 86 parks)
...and hike with Wild Walkers or at Lindenwood Nature Preserve
...for all sorts of sports (Youth Athletics or Adult Athletics)
...to play at one of our Youth Centers 
...and take a trip
...to volunteer
...to enjoy monthly reenactments and activities (Historic Old Fort)
...be outside and enjoy The Longest Day: Summer Solstice Celebration at the Community Center
...to learn more about our rivers in River Camp
...for nature (Lindenwood Nature Preserve)
...and visit the animals, take in a concert (August 20) or just wander around and soak up the atmosphere at Salomon Farm Park
...to Unwind Your Mind (activities for those with signs of early dementia)
...to look at LIVE butterflies at the Conservatory (each spring), "Perspectives" Live Butterfly Display (April 8-June 25)
...for Camp at Franke Park Day Camp, Farmin' Fun Day Camp, or City Safari Day Camp 
...to participate in summer activities on the Riverfront including Dragon Boat Races, Historic Boat Tours, Hikes, Bikes & Birds, or Little Explorers Science Series!
...to camp (Johnny Appleseed Campground)
...to play golf at one of our Golf Courses (Foster, McMillen or Shoaff) try FootGolf or sign your kids up for Pee Wee or Jr Golf
...to splash at one of the Splash Pads open Memorial Day Weekend!
...to fish (Hurshtown Reservoir) or for kids the Kids' Fishing Derby offered each June
