FootGolf Grand Opening Event
Saturday, May 2, 7 am – 7 pm; Play for $1.10 per person
Fort Wayne, Ind.—Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Director Al Moll was joined today by Golf Pro Rick Hemsoth and OpF4 (Fight for a Fitter Fort) to announce the grand opening of McMillen Park’s FootGolf Course on the Mad Anthony III’s.
To celebrate the grand opening, the public is invited to try 9 holes of FootGolf on Saturday, May 2 for just $1.10 per person. This family-friendly event will include instruction on how to play the game as well as contests with prizes. Those who would like to participate are encouraged to reserve a tee time by calling 427- 6710.
FootGolf is a combination of golf and soccer that is played with a soccer ball. The holes on the course are a much larger size to accommodate the size of the larger ball. McMillen’s FootGolf Course will be available daily from sunup to sundown. The cost to play will be: Adults $7; Youth $4; Families of 3 or more, $1 off per player.
“FootGolf is really catching on. It’s an easy-to-learn intergenerational sport that levels the playing field more than many sports do,” said Director Moll. “The game can be approached competitively or just for fun. And it’s a great way to enjoy our beautiful golf course.”
