History
Three private lots were purchased by the city and combined into one lot. A Bishop Luers student canvassed the neighborhood with a questionnaire. He submitted this as his community service project necessary to becoming an eagle scout. The questionnaire pinpointed the neighborhood's wishes for park improvements. When the lots were purchased there was a baseball diamond and a basketball court. Due to the neighborhood's priorities these were then repaired and improved, including adding a fence and backstop for the ball diamond; a drinking fountain and BBQ pit were constructed and picnic tables were installed. The park was formally dedicated on November 15, 1975.
Today this small oasis of open space features a playground with slides and a swing set, as well as a baseball field for fans of the popular sport. Ample trees provide shade for park visitors in the warm summer months.
