Headwaters Ice Skating Rink is NOW OPEN for the 2021-22 season 


Hours of Operation

The indoor concessions stand is operated by Mr. G’s at the Rink, offering soup, sandwiches, cold, and hot drinks.

Hours of operation are: 3 PM to 8 PM Monday through Thursday; NOON to 9 PM on Friday; NOON to 9 PM on Saturday; and NOON to 8 PM on Sunday.  PLEASE NOTE: Hours are subject to change in adherance to COVID-related restrictions and available staff.

 

Extended Holiday Hours:

December 17, 2021   through   January 2, 2022

CLOSED: Thanksgiving and Christmas Day

The Rink will be in operation until February 27, 2022.

Gift certificates and skating passes are available at the rink office (422-7625) or the Headwaters Park Alliance office (425-5745).

Cash and checks accepted as payment but not credit cards.


Free Skate Days for children under 14

Thanks to a $5,000 donation from Old National Bank, there will be 6 free skate days for children under 14 this season at the Headwaters Park Ice Skating Rink. Skating admission, which is $4 for children under 14, will be waived on the following 6 free skate says days, all Tuesdays, for children under 14.

The days are:

November 30

December 14

January   4

January 18

February   1

February   15

Skate rental of $3 still applies or children can bring their own skates.


COVID-19 Protocol

Because of the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic, skaters are encouraged to wear a mask or face covering on the ice and social distance as much as possible, on the rink and as they line up to the rink. Face masks are optional but encouraged by the Allen County Board of Health.

The Park is located on Clinton Street between Fourth and Superior Streets. Clinton Street is a major street running south (at this point) through downtown Fort Wayne. 

For directional purposes only, Headwaters Park is located at 333 South Clinton Street.

Rental Information


Two pavilions (Lincoln and Rothschild)  are available for public rental. They make wonderful settings for weddings, receptions, company picnics and family reunions. For more information or to book Headwaters Park for your special event, please contact Geoff Paddock at 425-5745.

General Information

Headwaters Park, located just north of the central city business district, is home to many festivals, concerts, charitable and other special events. The large open air pavilion is available for public rental and makes a wonderful setting for weddings, receptions, company picnics and family reunions. During the cold weather months, the pavilion houses the popular Headwaters Ice Skating Rink. To book Headwaters Park for your event or for pre-season ice skating information, call 425-5745. After November 19, you may call the rink directly at 422-7625.

Please note, the fountain is closed yearly for a few days before and after the Three Rivers Festival to allow for festival set-up/tear down.
