Curious About Crochet

One of the greatest things about crochet is that you don’t have to invest in fancy, new materials or find room in your house to store a bunch of equipment. With just a simple hook, a skein of yarn, and a comfy place to sit, you can begin enjoying all the benefits this craft provides. In the Beginner Class, we’ll get you started with a few basic stitches and show you how to read a pattern. The Intermediate Class is for those who already know how to comfortably create single and double crochet stitches as well as have a basic understanding of reading patterns. For either class, please bring a size 5mm, 5.5mm or 6mm crochet hook and a medium weight (size 4 worsted) yarn of your choice. Ages 50+. Registration deadline: September 13. Min. 4. Max. 5.

The Community Center Plants Produce in Raised Beds

Yearly our raised beds are planted with nutritious produce. A nutritionist from the Purdue extension office teaches nutrition classes and shows us how to use the produce.  Pictures above show
how to pick the herbs, Chinese cabbage, and spinach.
