2011 Farmin' Fun Day Camp
The Farmin' Fun Day Camp will be back for its eleventh season next summer at Salomon Farm Park. Activities will include environmental exploration, arts and crafts, farming and gardening, animal care, games and much more. The garden will be abundant with vegetables to harvest and sell, the pygmy goats will be caring for new babies in the Bat Barn and you'll meet our other animal residents . . . donkeys, sheep, goats and chickens! With so much to see and do, you won't want to miss this exciting summer program.
Download the Brochure (available in the spring)
Step into our nice air conditioned Nature Center and enjoy a program by our campers...
Make sure you meet our counselors during your tour!
Row 1: Miss Troutner, Miss Beck, Miss Bobay Row 2: Miss Ciolkos, Miss Babcock, Miss Simonson, Miss Baines (camp manager) Row 3: Miss Yauchler (camp supervisor) & Farmer Grant

Let's check out the garden...
Don't forget to see the "new" barns which are full of wheat, straw and hay and other farming equipment.

We rely on many groups to make our crops and gardens possible. Perhaps some day you will want to volunteer at Salomon and be part of the gardening crew. We can always use volunteers.

While you are touring, be sure to notice the newest "barn" which is the new Blacksmith shop. During special events the building will be open for you to check out this exciting hobby. Our hope is to have classes available in the near future as well.

Our chicken coop is bursting with CHICKENS! Depending on the weather they may stay in the "hen house" or venture outside.

Thanks to the Salomon Family for the tremendous gift of their land! Since the family still lives in the homestead, please respect their privacy.

Next stop is a visit to see our pygmy goats...

Off to see the "old barn" which was built in 1871. Rent the old barn for your next private event. Visit the old barn during one of our special events, come on a Wednesday to the Farmer's Market or enjoy it during camp.

Next stop is a visit to see the goats, the sheep and the donkeys...who can resist taking photos...

The donkeys were so cute and even posed when I wanted them to!

If you haven't done so already, make sure you take a hay ride and explain to your parents all of the Salomon legends.
Our tour winds up with a walk back to the Nature Center where you can enjoy some cool treats.
We had so much fun at camp-it is hard to say, "good bye"! Don't forget to sign up NOW so you won't miss any of the FUN! We will be looking for you.
