Share your knowledge of nature as you explore some of northeast Indiana’s finest outdoor areas in this nature-oriented group. Wild Walkers is an adult hiking group that meets the second and fourth Fridays of each month for a walk on the wild side. Each hike features a different natural area in the region (parks, wetlands, nature preserve, etc.) and carpooling is available when necessary. The 2017 schedule is posted below.

Wild Walkers Kick-Off Carry-In

Wild Walkers is an adult hiking group that meets the second and fourth Fridays of each month for a walk on the wild side. Each hike features a different natural area in the region (parks, wetlands, nature preserve, etc.) and carpooling is available when necessary. Join us at Metea Park for this kick-off carry-in style breakfast and first walk of the New Year. We will have the 2018 hiking schedules available. Please call Eden at 427-6008 or e-mail eden.lamb@cityof fortwayne.org by Tuesday, January 2 if you plan to attend.

Nature has so much to teach us and there’s no better way to learn than to experience it firsthand. Lindenwood Nature Preserve offers a variety of environmental education field trip opportunities varying from one to two hour programs. For a complete list of programs, please see the Lindenwood Field Trip Program. Cost is $2/participant/hour; a minimum fee of $20.00 / $40.00 will be charged for 1-hour / 2-hour programs, respectively. Teachers, care givers, and adult chaperones are free-of-charge. Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance by calling Eden at 260.427.6008.

Salomon Farm Park, 817 W. Dupont Rd.
Salomon Farm tours feature hands-on time with our animal friends and highlight composting, gardening and life on the farm in the old days. Wagon rides are available upon request for farm tours booked for 1½ hours or more. If you have a specific area of interest we will do our best to work it into the tour. Field trips are scheduled in 1-2 hour increments. Scheduling is subject to availability. Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance by contacting Eden at 260-427-6008. There is a charge of $3/hour/child. Teachers, care givers and adult chaperones are free. A minimum fee of $30/hour applies to all groups.
