Active-Aging-Flyer 40th Celebration-001

Mark your calendars NOW for Active Aging Week and the 40th Anniversary Celebration!  You won't want to miss the fun that lasts all week long!!

Book Sale

September 12-14, 8 am-7:30 pm
October 10-12, 8 am-7 pm

Community Center, 233 W. Main St.Donations of hardback books, paperback books and DVD’s will be accepted through the Wednesday before the sale. Book sales are open to the public.


Halloween Haunt
Saturday, October 21, 1:30-4:00 p.m.
Community Center, 233 W. Main St.

Downtown Fort Wayne becomes a haven for monsters, ghosts, vampires and zombies on Saturday afternoon.  Bring your little goblins to the Community Center for an afternoon of frightful fun. There will be a minimal charge for games, but free face painting and a performance by Fort Wayne Youth Theatre at 2:00 p.m. Anthony Wayne Lions Club will have concessions available for purchase. Admission is free.

Santa’s Workshop at the Community Center
Wednesday, November 22 4:30-7:30 p.m.
Lighting Ceremony 6:00 p.m.

Start your downtown celebration at the Community Center with free holiday activities for the kids. There will be crafts, refreshments and movies. Donate a new or gently used bear to the “Disorderly Bear Den” and be entered into a drawing to win a giant elf bear.  Kids can shop for inexpensive holiday gifts for $4 or less at the North Pole Stop-n-Shop.  Mom and Dad can shop too, our Community Center patrons have been crafting holiday items to sell in the Crafter’s Corner.  Finally, check out the light display on the Community Center roof when we turn on the lights at 6:00.


Veteran’s Breakfast & Bingo
Friday, November 10, 8:30 a.m.
Community Center, 233 W. Main St.

The Community Center will honor the men and women who have served our country in the military and their guest with a FREE breakfast and Bingo.  American Legion Band of Fort Wayne will provide live music. Call 427-6460 by Monday, November 6 to reserve your seat. When making a reservation, please give us your branch of service and years served. After breakfast, stay for Bingo at 10:00 a.m. It is free and prizes include gift cards from local businesses. 

Holly Trolley Shopping & Craft Show
Saturday, November 25, 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Community Center 233 W. Main St.

The Community Center will be a stop on the Holly Trolley Tour. Watch for details in the Winter issue of Fun Times.

55+ Holiday Dinner & Light Tours

The Community Center will host it’s annual Holiday Dinner & Light Tours in December. Watch for details about these popular events in the winter issue of Fun Times.

Don’t miss the 40th anniversary party! 

To register for Active Aging Week events, please call 427-6460 no later than 2 days prior to the event. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each tournament. Unless otherwise stated, the event will be held at the Community Center. The walking tour departs from the Community Center.
