The Longest Day: Summer Solstice Celebration

The Community Center and Kingston at Dupont have joined together to offer this fun filled event on “The Longest Day.”  Along with food and fun this event is a global awareness movement to help end Alzheimer’s disease.

  • Entertainment by local performance groups including the Alley Kats and Community Cloggers
  • Music by Remember When
  • Sing Along/Karaoke
  • Arts such as pottery and painting
  • Historic Downtown Walking Tour at 1 pm
  • Games  including  shuffleboard, table box  hockey and a downtown scavenger hunt
  • Box lunches for $5 (including burgers fresh off the grill, chips, cookie and drink)
If you can’t make it to the celebration, you can still participate by allowing us to deliver box lunches to you and your friends (minimum 3 meals) within a 5 mile radius of downtown Fort Wayne. Lunch delivery reservations are required by June 16 by calling Jill at 602-4278 with the quantity, contact name and delivery address.

Children’s Gently Used Book Swap & Sale
Friday, July 7, 12:00-6:00 p.m. 
Saturday, July 8, 12:00-5:00 p.m.
Sunday, July 9, 12:00-5:00 p.m.
Monday, July 10, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Summer is a great time to READ . . . just for the fun of it! Our book swap and sale is your opportunity to trade in the books you’ve already read for something you haven’t. Boys and girls (toddlers through teens) may swap up to 5 books per day. Purchasing is unlimited and open to kids and adults. Prices start at 25¢ per book.
Note: This event is during the same weekend as our Intergenerational Wii tournament  and Lego Building Challenge.

Book Sale
August 8-10, 8:00 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
Community Center, 233 W. Main St.

Donations of hardback books, paperback books and DVD’s will be accepted through the Wednesday before the sale. Book sales are open to the public.
