Community Extravaganza

Saturday, May 18, 12:00-4:00 p.m.

Mark your calendar and plan to join us for this free, fun, family event! Enjoy games, prizes, food and entertainment, commercial vendors and community resource booths. Parents can also register children (ages 5-18) for the free summer program.

Summer Fun! McMillen Park Community Center Summer Youth Program

June 5-July 27 Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

The McMillen Park Community Center offers a summer youth program for children ages 5-18. The activity schedule is below. Children must be registered for the summer program before they are allowed to attend. Sign up at the Center or on-line at The summer youth activities at McMillen Park Community Center are FREE for registered participants during program hours. Admission to the Center after 6:00 p.m. is $1 for all ages. Note: The Fort Wayne Community Schools Summer Lunch Program provides free lunches each weekday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. for all children 18 years of age and younger (participation in the summer program is NOT required for the free lunch). Summer Playgrounds

June 3-July 26 Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

It’s going to be a great summer in the park and you are invited to join the fun! Kickball, t-ball, bumper-pool, Mancala, basketball, arts & crafts and weekly field trips for those who qualify are just a few of the fun and exciting activities planned for our summer playground program. All five playground sites are supervised by qualified, trained staff. Children are free to sign in and out as they please. The program is FREE and is open to boys and girls ages 5 ( by June 3) to 18 (still in school). FREE lunches are provided daily by Fort Wayne Community Schools. FREE Family Fun Nights featuring games, food and activities for the entire family will be held at Lakeside, Memorial and Packard Parks. Parents must complete a registration form for each child at their first playground visit. Questions? Call Chantell at 427-5966.

UBUNTU-A Celebration of Community

Join us at Indiana Tech's Multi-Flex Theatre on May 31 for live jazz with George Middleton, Jr. and local singer/songwriter Fatima Washington. All proceeds from the concert benefit the Jennings Recreation Center's Teenage Sunday Scholarship Fund. Call 438-2929 for ticket information.

Basketball Men League Page 1    

Men’s Open Basketball League

Basketball leagues start the week of July 11th and run for 8 weeks followed by a single elimination tournament. Game times are scheduled on Thursdays at 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. Team registration forms are available at the McMillen Park Community Center Guests Services desk and online. Team rosters are limited to 12 players and the league is limited to 12 teams. Ages 18+.  Registration deadline: July 1. Fee: $100/team.

Women's Pro Am

The Women's Pro Am starts the week of June 10th and runs for 6 weeks followed by the playoffs. Game times are scheduled on Mondays at 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. Team registration forms are available at the McMillen Park Community Center Guests Services desk and online. All participants must come and register at the McMillen Park Community Center at 6:00 p.m.   Registration deadline: May 27th. Fee: $20/person
