Fort Wayne, Ind. – The following events and programs are happening the week of January 25:

Winterval 2021

Saturday, January 30

Downtown Fort Wayne

Celebrate winter with a visit to downtown Fort Wayne! The 10th annual Winterval promises a full day of indoor and outdoor winter fun for all ages. Take a winter hike at Lindenwood Nature Preserve and then skate at Headwaters Park. Show off your pooch's sense of fashion at Promenade Park. Watch ice carvers create wonders from a solid block of ice and enjoy special events at the Botanical Conservatory, the downtown Allen County Public Library and Science Central. Also be sure to check out the live ice carving at 2 pm at the Community Center and then drive through the Ice Carving display. Full details are available at FortWayneParks.org.

“The Tiki Bowl” Play Garden

Open through April 4

Botanical Conservatory, 1100 S. Calhoun St.

Find indoor tropical fun and games this winter in our family-friendly Showcase with our version of the ancient Hawaiian bowling game, ‘Ulu Maika.’ Rather than using a club or putter, players control their ball by rolling, then kicking, it towards each goal. A half-dozen greens offer challenges for players to navigate and a chance to chart the Great Polynesian Migration from Taiwan to Hawaii over thousands of years. Surrounded by lush foliage and bright colors, visitors will enjoy the fragrance of the living garden while waiting to play. Sponsored by PNC Trust, Magee-O’Connor Foundation, Howard P. Arnold Foundation and Majic 95.1.
