Dupont Road Construction/Salmon Park
As weather warms up, construction projects will begin again around the city, including the ongoing work on Dupont Road near Salomon Farm Park. The park entrance will remain open throughout construction, but please be aware of traffic changes near Salomon and plan accordingly.
Controlled Burn at Buckner Park
The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department has hired a contractor to conduct a controlled burn on the parking lot swales at Buckner Park this spring sometime between March 19 and April 19.
The parking lot swales at Buckner were designed to provide temporary detention and filtration of storm water as it comes off the parking lot. This type of swale system helps to reduce and clean our storm water before it reaches our rivers. These swales were originally planted with native grasses, sedges, and wildflowers. Learn more...
