Explore Japanese Culture at Event to Honor Sister City Takaoka

You don’t have to be Japanese or even come with your family to enjoy this public event. On Saturday, September 24, the Botanical Conservatory will present a sensory exploration of Japanese culture during their “Japanese Family Event,” a nod to our sister city, Takaoka, Japan.

Dollar Night Insight

September 1, 5 - 8 pm

On the first Thursday of the month, visit the gardens for $1 per person (instead of the usual $5 & $3) AND enjoy a brief, interactive learning moment. Babies and up to age 2 are still admitted free. Be sure to drop in on the free DNI program for this month’s new topic.

Fort Wayne, IN: Due to the expectation of strong chemical fumes, regular programming at McMillen Park Community Center is cancelled September 5 – 11 while the gym floor is resurfaced.

Jennings, Cooper and Weisser youth centers remain open and children are encouraged to attend after-school programming at one of those centers during the short time McMillen will be closed.
