Concert on the Farm

Sunday, August 20, 2:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Salomon Farm Park, 317 West Dupont Road

Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and sample the music of Rosalind & the Way, The Legendary Train Hoppers, Debutants and The Hubie Ashcraft Band in a relaxing country setting. Gates will open at 1:45 p.m. and the music will begin at 2:15 p.m. in the Historic Old Barn. Admission is $5 per person. Concert on the Farm is sponsored by Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation and US 93.3.

Foellinger Theatre, 3411 Sherman Street

Iconic musical artists Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo return to the Foellinger Theatre with the Funtastic 2023 tour. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com or in person at the Parks and Recreation Department, 705 East State Blvd. during regular office hours or at the Foellinger Theatre Box Office from 6:00 –10:00 p.m. on concert days.

 

Muddy River Concert Series

Wednesdays, August 23, 7:00 p.m.

Sweetwater Bandshell, Promenade Park, 2020 West Superior Street

Enjoy live local music on the Riverfront from the Debutants on August 23, along with food and drink to purchase from teds snack + bar at the Promenade Park Café.

Sweet Breeze Thursday Tours

Thursday, August 24, 6:00 p.m. (60 minute), 7:15 p.m. (60 minute)

South Dock, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Travel Fort Wayne’s rivers in the cool of the evening on Sweet Breeze, for a weeknight cruise. This fully accessible tour provides an opportunity to learn something new about Fort Wayne through its riverfront. Tickets are $23 per person for a 60-minute cruise. Reservations can be made online at www.RideSweetBreeze.org, in person at the Parks and Recreation Offices (705 East State Blvd.) or by phone 260-427-6000 during normal business hours.

 

Sweet Breeze Open House during Kekionga Plein Air Event

Friday, August 25, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Headwaters Park West Dock,

Come watch local artists paint live in Headwaters Park West as part of the Fort Wayne Artists Guild’s Kekionga Plein Air event. Paintings will be available for sale! Sweet Breeze will be stationed at the dock, where it will be open for viewing. Enjoy live music by local band Winona Acoustic Society, and get creative with five-minute crafts by Blowflower Daydreams.

 

 

Weekend Sweet Breeze Cruises

Taste of the Arts Tours, Saturday, August 26, 2:45 p.m. (45 minute), 3:45 p.m. (90 minute)

Sunday, August 27, 12:00 p.m. (45 minute), 1:00 p.m. (90 minute), 2:45 p.m. (45 minute)

Travel Fort Wayne’s rivers on Sweet Breeze, an authentic 1840 canal boat replica. This fully accessible tour provides an opportunity to learn something new about Fort Wayne through its riverfront. Choose 90 minute or 45 minute cruise options on Saturday. Tickets are $30 per person for a 90-minute cruise, and $20 per person for 45-minute cruise. An Herban Garden Showcase Exhibit

Foellinger Freimann Botanical Conservatory, 1100 South Calhoun Street

Digest the community impact of urban gardening and see herbs that flourish, mushrooms that thrive and rooftops that grow. Forage some more to discover dynamic graffiti art and container gardens accompanying uptown views from your local stoop. It’s a beautiful season in the neighborhood at the Botanical Conservatory’s own herban garden. Sponsored by: the English Bonter Mitchell Foundation, Waterfield Foundation and WANE 15.

 

 

Salomon Farmers’ Market

Wednesday, August 23, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and continuing each Wednesday until September 6

Salomon Farm Park, 317 West Dupont Road

Find fresh produce, baked goods, honey and artisan crafts at this mid-week market. Stop by and say hello to the newest members of the herd—Mickie and Frankie the Highland Coos as well as the goats, miniature horses and sheep.

   

 

Salomon Farm Park U-pick Flowers

Wednesday and Friday, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Salomon Farm Park, 817 West Dupont Road

U-Pick flower fields are available on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays while flowers are blooming. Prices vary per type; $2 per sunflower and $1 per other stem. Follow the signs and look for the “red barn” trailer for supplies and checkout.
