Fort Wayne, Ind. – Mayor Tom Henry and Parks and Recreation Director Steve McDaniel joined representatives from the Parks and Recreation Community Youth Center staff and Fort Wayne Community Schools at Lakeside Park on Thursday morning to announce the beginning of the 2019 Summer Playground Program.

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation is offering the Friday June 7 Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels/Duke Tumatoe and the Power Trio concert as a free community event at Foellinger Theatre. The concert begins at 8 pm and gates will open at 7 pm. Previously non-reserved seats will be available on a first come, first served basis Friday night.

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Mayor Tom Henry and Parks and Recreation Director Steve McDaniel kicked off the 41st Annual Senior Games today with the ceremonial lighting of the torch at the Community Center. The Senior Games is open to adults 50 and older and over 450 participants are expected to play this year in locations all over Fort Wayne.

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The following events and programs are happening the week of June 3, 2019:

41st Annual Senior Games

Through June 21

Community Center (Main Street), and McMillen Community Center (McMillen Park)

Participants can compete in any of 36 physically and mentally challenging events to test their talent and skill while enjoying good company and making new friends. Individual event winners, as well as all participants, will be recognized at an Awards Banquet on Friday, June 21. Competitors can choose one event or as many as they like.
