The main office of the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department is located in Bob Arnold Northside Park on the corner of State and Parnell in the Byron Novitsky building.  To get to our office enter off State Blvd. heading north on Parnell Avenue. At the second entrance to the Park located just south of the tennis courts turn right into the park.  When you get to the Psi Ote Pavilion turn right.  This park road will bring you up to our parking lot in the front of the building.  Our office faces East State Boulevard.

All city parks are open to the public from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. for various reasons including to accommodate our neighbors whose homes are located next to many of our parks. This ordinance is strictly enforced by the Fort Wayne Police Department.

For full-time employment you would need to go to Citizen's Square and fill out an application.  It would be best to call (260) 427-1180 before you go to find out the hours they accept applications. Parks and Recreation Department job postings are listed on the City of Fort Wayne Web site and you can apply for any position by sending a resume online

Typically the Parks and Recreation Department offers a number of summer jobs for students, including playground staff, camp staff and lifeguard opportunities. All of our current summer job opportunities are listed on the City of Fort Wayne Web site. Job openings are updated on a regular basis.
