The Settlers’ Herb Garden Wednesdays
9:00-11:00 a.m.
An herb garden was especially meaningful in our area, for both the early settlers and the Native Americans, who used them extensively. The Settlers Herb Garden at rear of the Swinney Homestead was planted in 1976 and has 17 plots of annual and perennial herbs, with a border garden. The beds and borders are labeled as to use. The garden is maintained by Settlers, Inc. members and friends. Volunteers are invited make a new acquaintance of a gardener—or a garden plant, “pull a few weeds”, and enjoy the camaraderie on Wednesday mornings from 9-11 a.m. Call Norene (260-637-8622) or Louise (260-432-7314) to verify work activity. No gardening experience necessary!
