Park Events and Activities
The Johnny Appleseed Festival is always the third full weekend (Saturday/Sunday) in September. For more information on the Johnny Appleseed Festival CLICK HERE.
The parks host a variety of events and activities, anything from classes to concerts. For more detailed information check out our seasonal Fun Times which can be found on our Home Page. The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department does offer non-competitive t-ball training and non-competitive lob ball training for youth. Information on our programs may be found in the Summer Fun Times. All brochures are posted on-line upon release. You can also register for our programs online by clicking here

Children must meet the age requirement set for each program. Franke Park Day Camp cut off date is June 1st, the Junior and Pee Wee Golf cut off date is July 1st and for all other programs the children must be the minimum age by the time of the first session of the program.
Our instructors receive excellent ratings. In fact, in terms of our children's programs, our instructors for our summer programs received excellent/good ratings from 92%-99% of our respondents! We pride ourselves on hiring high quality staff that are excellent instructors.
Refunds will be processed upon request for pavilion reservations, recreation classes, leagues, and other programs in accordance with the refund policy

Disc golf opportunities are available in Northside Park, Weisser Park, Swinney, Shoaff Park and Tillman Parks. In fact, the east portion of Swinney Park has a 12-Hole Disc Golf Course while the west part is home to an 18-Hole Disc Golf Course. Please call the Marketing Department at 427-6000 to request permission to take photos at fee based park facilities. For professional photo shoots at the Botanical Conservatory, look at the Botanical Conservatory site for additional information and relevant fees.
