Trail Closures and Detours:
Rivergreenway Closures near Downtown Fort Wayne:
- Beginning October 1st, 2023, Riverfront Development on the north side of the St.Marys River will begin. This development will close the St.Marys Pathway between the Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge and Harrison St, with a further closure between the Historic Wells Street Bridge and Ewing St. This overall project is expected to last through 2024.
- The St.Joseph Pathway is closed at the Water Filtration Plant. Trail users should use the St.Joseph Boulevard Pathway (east side of river) to navigate around the closure, or a nearby residential road.
- The pedestrian bridge just South of Lawton Park is closed for reconstruction. A posted detour is in place. Please note that this will be a long-term closure. While this bridge is part of the St.Marys Pathway, its location is important to the connection of all Rivergreenway Pathways, meaning that many Rivergreenway trail users may be impacted. We apologize for the inconvenience.
- The above closures/detours can be seen on this map.
Maplecrest Rd Trail: Construction on E State Blvd near Georgetown has complicated crossing E State. Please use caution in the area.
