Youth Summer Activities

Early registration deadlines approaching!

 

The deadline for early registration for the following Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation summer youth activities is May 29. There may be openings after May 29, but an additional $10 fee will be charged. 

 

Intro to Soccer—Boys and girls learn to kick, trap, and pass a soccer ball while learning basic rules and soccer terms. One adult is required to participate with each child. Fee: $59 / $69 after May 29.

Mini Kickers (Ages 2 – 3)

Little Kickers (Ages 3 – 4)

Kickin’ Kids (Ages 4 – 6)

Big Kickers (Ages 6 – 10)

 

Little Sluggers: T-Ball Training—A non-competitive, instructional program emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and fun for boys and girls ages 3 – 4. Instruction is through demonstration and drills. Games, scrimmages, and competition are not part of the Little Sluggers program. Fee: $42/$52 after May 29.

 

Pee Wee T-Ball-- A non-competitive, instructional program designed to help young athletes (ages 5 – 7) develop basic baseball skills—throwing, catching, fielding, batting, and base running. Players will “scrimmage” amongst the group. Fee: $54/$64 after May 29.

 

Lob Ball—Lob Ball replaces the t-ball tee with a slow underhand pitch by a coach and focuses more on strategy and game situations for participants ages 6 – 10. Fee: $54/$64 after May 29.

 

Instructional Softball—Boys and girls ages 7 – 11 will learn fielding skills, positions, batting techniques and game strategies. Pitching will also be introduced. Fee: $58/$68 after May 29.

 

Itty Bitty Basketball—Focusing on fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing and shooting for children ages 2 – 4 in a noncompetitive environment. Fee: $38/$48 after May 29.

 

Pee Wee Basketball-- Focusing on fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing and shooting for children kindergarten – 5th grade, in a noncompetitive environment. Fee: $54/$64 after May 29.

 

Little Lineman Flag Football—This non-competitive flag football program is designed to teach the basic skill in passing, running, offense and defense while emphasizing teamwork and sportsmanship. Boys and girls ages 4 – 5. Fee: $43/$53 after May 29.

 

Flag Football— This non-competitive flag football program is designed to teach the basic skill in passing, running, offense and defense while emphasizing teamwork and sportsmanship. Players will learn skills and lessons that will help them succeed both on and off the field. Boys and girls ages 6 – 12. Fee: $58/$68 after May 29.

 

Lifetime Sports Academy—There is no fee and no registration deadline for this program held in McMillen Park June 10 – June 26. The Academy features group lessons in swimming, golf and tennis for boys and girls ages 8 – 18. Program hours are Monday – Friday, 9 am3 pmThe Lifetime Sports Academy is located in the McMillen Park Pavilion just west of the pool (enter the park off Oxford).
