The Senior Games are all about celebrating the spirit of competition and promoting the benefits of remaining active and physically fit, no matter the age. The events are designed for seniors to show off their skills, stay active and most importantly, have a great time.
There will be a wide range of activities, including classic sports like bowling, table tennis and pickleball. For those who prefer less intense activities, there will also be games like shuffleboard, golf, and cornhole.
In addition to the athletic events, there will be plenty of activities to show off mental agility and experience social engagement. The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Community Center has organized trivia, various board games and even pontoon rides! For the pontoon rides a Parks & Recreation employee will be driving and giving interesting facts about our rivers all while everyone aboard enjoys a relaxing ride.
The 2024 Fort Wayne Senior Games will wrap up with a dinner sponsored by HoneyBaked Ham and awards presentation. Awards include gift cards for event winners and trophies for the over-all male and female champions. There will also be lots of great door prizes!
The Senior Games are not just about competition; they are also about building a sense of community. The event brings together seniors from all walks of life, creating an environment of support and friendship. Many participants have been attending for years and look forward to reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.
