The weekly Trek the Trails group bicycle rides occur every Tuesday. These rides are perfect for cyclists of all skill levels. Each week, participants gather at different trailheads around Fort Wayne to explore the extensive network of 120 miles worth of trails that the city has to offer. Participants meet at 6:00 p.m., start at 6:10 p.m. and typically ride for about an hour and a half, covering a distance between 7-11 miles. The routes are carefully selected to showcase the best parts of Fort Wayne's trail system, including Promenade Park, Foster Park, Shoaff Park and everything in-between!

This is a “no one left behind ride” so riders of all ages come together to share their love of biking and the outdoors. Helmets are required for all participants, and it's a good idea to bring water for the ride. Trek the trails goes all the way through until the end of September so there’s plenty of time to pump up your bike tires and get out to the trails! Click here to register for Trek the Trails!

The bi-weekly Tread the Trails events are held every other Thursday until September 19, and are geared towards walkers and runners. Like Trek the Trails, these events take place at various locations around Fort Wayne. The goal is to encourage people to explore the city's trails on foot and to promote a healthy, active lifestyle. Tread the Trails events start at 6:00 p.m. and usually last about an hour, with participants getting the choice to tread between one to three miles.

Tread the Trails is a great way to experience the trails at a slower pace. Walkers and runners can take in the sights and sounds of nature, enjoy the fresh air and get some exercise all at the same time. These events are open to people of all fitness levels, from casual walkers to seasoned runners. Tread the Trails is designed with all ability levels in mind and is family-friendly. Each group will have a “sweeper” to ensure no one is lost or gets left behind. Participants are encouraged to bring water, wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. The City and Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation make sure the Fort Wayne Area Trails are well-maintained. The routes are planned to highlight the natural beauty and unique features of the area. These events not only promote physical fitness but also help to build a sense of community and appreciation for the city's outdoor public spaces.

Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just looking for a fun way to stay active, Trek the Trails and Tread the Trails offer something for everyone. So, mark your calendars and get ready to hit the trails this year. It's a great way to explore the city, meet new people, and enjoy the great outdoors.
