October at the Conservatory brings a shift in energy, beginning with the Botanical Brew event on October 4, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. This event is an excellent combination of local flavor and entertainment. Visitors will have the opportunity to sample a wide variety of beverages, from coffee and tea to beer, wine, cider, and mead, all from regional and local providers. It’s more than just a tasting event, though, as there will be live performers, local food and artisans showcasing their work. Adding to the festive atmosphere is the Raise a Glass! showcase exhibit, which encourages guests to relax and take in the creative spirit of the community. It's a perfect event for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a taste of fall in the city. This event is free for Conservatory members and $10 per person for the general public.

For those seeking something a little more out of the ordinary, the Conservatory offers a special showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Saturday, October 19, starting at 7:00 p.m. The evening will include a costume contest, making it a night of quirky fun and friendly competition. In addition to the costume contest, new for 2024 is the Fright Night Market! Fans of the cult classic will have a blast and the unique setting of the Conservatory will only add to the atmosphere of this one-of-a-kind event. It’s sure to draw a lively crowd eager to participate in the fun, dress up and celebrate the film's iconic moments. This event is free for Conservatory members and $10 per person for the general public.

The Halloween theme continues with the Garden Trick-or-Treat event, happening on Saturday, October 26, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. This family-friendly activity is designed with the little ones in mind, offering safe, fun and interactive experiences for kids of all ages. Costumes are encouraged, and visitors can stroll through the garden, stopping at various stations to collect treats and enjoy the festive decorations. It's a perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit without any of the spooky scares, making it an ideal event for families looking for a fun day out together. This event is included with regular admission.

Throughout the month, from October 1 through October 27, the Pumpkin Path Display will be available during the Botanical Conservatory's public hours. This outdoor seasonal display has become a beloved fall tradition in Fort Wayne, offering guests the chance to enjoy the changing season in a beautifully decorated setting. The path is filled with fall foliage and naturally harvested décor, creating plenty of opportunities for festive photo moments.
