Spring Wildflower Hike – April 12, 10-11 am
Springtime is a great time for stepping away from the city streets and the Spring Wildflower Hike is your chance to witness all Lindenwood has to offer in the springtime. This guided hike will introduce visitors to the wide variety of wildflowers that bloom in the preserve. Not only will you see these beauties firsthand, but you’ll also learn how to identify them, how they spread, and how they play a role in the larger forest ecosystem. It’s a great way to sharpen your nature knowledge while enjoying a peaceful morning in the woods. Best of all, it’s free!

Mother’s Day Picnic and Wildflower Hike – May 11, 12-1 pm
If you’re looking for a special way to celebrate Mother’s Day, why not treat Mom to a relaxing picnic and hike at Lindenwood? Pack a lunch and meet at the campfire circle before setting off on a guided walk through a landscape bursting with wildflowers. It’s a perfect way to enjoy time together while surrounded by the beauty of nature. Whether she’s an outdoor enthusiast or just loves a quiet afternoon in the fresh air, this event is sure to make Mother’s Day extra special.

ACPL Storytime Hikes – March 28, April 25, May 23, 4-5 pm
Kids ages 8-12 can enjoy a mix of storytelling and outdoor exploration with the Allen County Public Library’s Storytime Hikes. Each hike kicks off with a nature-related story, followed by a guided walk through the woods. It’s a fun and educational way to get kids interested in both reading and the natural world. Upcoming themes include Animal Tracks (March 28), Spring Flowers (April 25), and Birdsong & Healthy Brains (May 23). No library card is needed, and the event is completely free—just sign up through the library or give them a call!

Retiree Rambles – March 6, April 3, May 1, 10 am
Looking for a laid-back way to enjoy the outdoors and meet new people? The Retiree Rambles are perfect for anyone who enjoys a good walk and great conversation. Taking place on the first Thursday of each month, these mid-morning hikes are an easygoing way to explore Lindenwood at a relaxed pace. Despite the name, you don’t have to be retired to join—everyone is welcome! No registration, no fees, just fresh air and friendly company.
