Spring is in the air, and so are butterflies! The Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory is back with one of its most exciting events of the year! Color in Motion: Live Butterfly Exhibit, returns from April 11 to June 22 during public hours. If you’ve ever wanted to be surrounded by fluttering wings and bright colors, this is your chance to experience just that. As you walk through the exhibit, you’ll be in awe of the way these butterflies move through the air. Some will zip right past you, others may even land nearby, giving you a close-up look at their delicate wings. It’s like being inside a painting that’s alive! And here’s the coolest part: you can watch butterflies emerge from their chrysalides—which means you get to see the exact moment they break free and take their first flight. It’s nature’s magic trick, and it never gets old.

To add to the experience, the Conservatory has gone all out with multicolored flowers and vibrant foliage, turning the whole space into a tropical paradise. It’s the kind of place where you forget about your to-do list and just enjoy the moment. Whether you're a kid or just a kid at heart, there’s something peaceful, joyful and downright fun about being in the middle of so much color.

Speaking of fun—don’t miss out on the Color in Motion: Spring Artisan Market happening Sunday, April 27 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. This brand-new indoor and outdoor market is the perfect addition to your butterfly adventure. Local artists, crafters and unique vendors will be there, offering all kinds of cool gifts and goodies. Whether you're shopping for Mother’s Day, a birthday or just because, you’re sure to find something special. Even better, garden admission is not required to shop the Spring Artisan Market or to explore the Conservatory Shop, which is packed with garden-inspired gifts and fun finds. So even if butterflies aren’t your thing (though they totally should be), you can still enjoy the buzz of the market and support some amazing local talent.

Spring is short, but memories like these last all year. So, grab your friends, bring the family or come solo for a peaceful escape into a world of color, wings and wonder. Color in Motion is more than an exhibit—it’s an experience that will leave you smiling, snapping photos, and maybe even planning your next visit before you leave.
