Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation is excited to welcome back the 46th Annual Senior Games, running from June 2 through July 2, 2025. This long-standing tradition brings together adults who are age 50 and older for a month filled with competition, community and fun. From classic games to new challenges, the Senior Games offer a wide variety of ways to stay active and engaged.
Everything kicks off on Monday, June 2, at 8:30 a.m. at the Community Center (233 W. Main Street) with the Opening Ceremony, Continental Breakfast and Torch Lighting. This energizing start includes a Health & Wellness Fair, a light breakfast, the official proclamation of the games and the traditional torch lighting to mark the beginning of the event. Official 2025 Senior Games t-shirts will be available for purchase at the Opening Ceremony for $8 or participants can get one free by signing up for six or more events.
The lineup of events includes more than 40 different competitions and activities, including pickleball, euchre, darts, cornhole, table tennis, shuffleboard, archery, axe throwing, walking and biking tours, card games, golf and even a timed jigsaw puzzle competition.
To register, participants must be age 50 or older by June 1, 2025. Early registration is going on until May 30 at 4:00 p.m. for the discounted price of $1 per event. After that date, the cost increases to $2 per event. Registration is available in person at the Community Center or by mailing in a completed form with payment. The popular Sweet Breeze Canal Boat Tour on June 30 is $10 and offers a relaxing, guided evening cruise through Fort Wayne’s riverfront. Space is limited, so early sign-ups are encouraged.
For those who enjoy the outdoors, don’t miss the Pontoon Rides at Guldlin Park on June 9, 12, and 23. Each day features three ride times (4:00, 5:15, and 6:30 p.m.), with spots capped at 12 passengers per boat. These scenic rides are a highlight of the Games and fill up quickly.
As the Games wind down, the community gathers one last time for the Awards Dinner on Wednesday, July 2, at 5:30 p.m. at the McMillen Family Pavilion in Franke Park. This evening includes dinner, prizes, recognition of event winners and trophies for the overall male and female champions. Participants are encouraged to bring a guest and wear their t-shirts with pride.
This event is more than just games, it's about making connections, trying new things and celebrating what it means to stay active and involved. With friendly competition, fresh air and a whole month of activities, the Senior Games continue to be one of Fort Wayne’s most cherished summertime traditions.
