Nothing says summer like a visit to a farm market. From the smell of fresh baked goods to the sound of live music and the friendly atmosphere, it’s a great way to break up the week and pick up fresh ingredients to get you through to your next shopping trip. Every Wednesday until September 3, Salomon Farm Park hosts the Salomon Farmers’ Market, a place to relax, explore local goods, and enjoy the season.
The market runs from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and brings together local farmers, bakers, artisans and producers, all from within a 75-mile radius of Salomon Farm Park. Whether you’re stopping by after work, bringing the kids for an evening outing or just looking for some of the freshest goods in town, this market is designed for everyone.
One of the things that makes the Salomon Farmers’ Market unique is its commitment to being a true “growers’ market.” That means most of the products you see are grown, raised or handmade by the people selling them. When you buy a tomato or a jar of honey here, you can actually talk to the person who picked it or harvested it.
You’ll find a little bit of everything at the market. From freshly picked fruits and vegetables to homemade pies, artisan breads and locally sourced honey, the quality and care that go into these products are easy to taste. There are also handcrafted goods made by local artisans, so whether you’re shopping for your pantry or your home, you’ll leave with something special.
Live entertainment also adds a festive touch to the market. Local musicians and bands will perform throughout the season, turning your shopping trip into a relaxing evening out. Here’s a look at this summer’s performance lineup:
