Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation is excited to invite families, friends, and neighbors to McKinnie Commons, one of the city’s newest parks, for a season full of free family fun, live music and community celebration. Located at the corner of McKinnie Ave. & Anthony Blvd., McKinnie Commons is quickly becoming a go-to destination for community gatherings, live entertainment and memorable summer moments. This summer, Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation is bringing the park to life with a series of free events.
McKinnie Commons Concert Series
Friday, June 13 | 7:30–9:30 p.m.
The summer kicks off with the McKinnie Commons Concert Series, and it’s starting strong! Grab your lawn chairs and round up the whole family for a high-energy performance from Phase One Band.
Friday, July 11 | 7:30–9:30 p.m.
The fun continues in July with another installment of the Concert Series. While the featured band is still a surprise, one thing’s for sure: the music will be lively, the crowd will be smiling, and the evening will be unforgettable. Don’t forget your chair, your friends and your best summer spirit!
Park and Play: End of Summer Celebration
Friday, August 1 | 1:00–4:00 p.m.
Wrap up your summer in style at the Park and Play End of Summer Celebration! This family-friendly event is packed with exciting activities for kids and parents alike. Local organizations will be onsite handing out free school supplies, so be sure to bring a backpack! A live DJ will keep the energy up while kids enjoy a giant inflatable slide, play lawn games and munch on free popcorn. It’s the perfect way to end the season on a high note and get ready for the school year ahead.
McKinnie Commons Connection is the perfect place to make memories with your loved ones. These events are completely free, open to the public and designed to celebrate the community spirit that makes Fort Wayne such a special place to live.
