Pam Snyder, a Master Gardner for 20 years, will be the presenter for this seminar. She inherited her love for gardening from her grandfather.
Container Gardening and Backdoor Gardening

Learn what it takes to grow and enjoy a small garden on your porch or patio. Great for apartment/condo dwellers or anyone who just desires to enjoy growing a few veggies or flowers without the work and hassle of a large garden. The Siege at Kekionga: Tecumseh’s Uprising

Local author and historian, Jim Pickett, will present part two of his lecture series concerning what he discovered while researching for his historical fiction ‘You Are There’ adventure stories. Tonight, Mr Pickett, the author of The Bones of Kekionga, The March to Kekionga and The Siege at Kekionga: Tecumseh’s Uprising picks up with his lecture, map and picture presentation a year after the 1790 Battle of Kekionga. Covering St. Clair’s Defeat and Anthony Wayne’s march to Fort Wayne, the author finishes his discussion with the seven day 1812 attack on Fort Wayne. Get the most out of your iPhone, iPad or smart phone. Sign up for individual assistance in 20 minute sessions from 6:00-8:00 p.m. You will need to know your Apple ID and password if you need individual help. The Key Club of New Tech Academy at Wayne High School will be providing the assistance which is free, however, you will need to call 427-6460 to register by March 13 or April 10.
Monday Luncheons
Bring a friend or two and join us for our traditional Monday Luncheons. We will begin serving at 12:00 p.m. but you can come at 10:30 a.m. and enjoy the Relaxation Station to color and socialize with others. Paid reservations of $5 are required by the previous Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. Reservations fees cannot be refunded. At each luncheon there will be a short presentation by the sponsor. Ages 50+.

This fun and social program is sponsored by Miller’s Health Systems of greater Fort Wayne. They will be serving a continental breakfast and offering opportunities to win prizes! This “Greet & Eat” is free to participate and will be offered quarterly. Also, you could plan on attending the exercise classes for $2 before and after the “Greet and Eat”! See ABC Exercise and Cardio Flex in the Fun after Fifty section. Pre-registration is required for the “Greet and Eat” by February 14. Call 427-6460 to sign up. Space is limited.

Book sales are open to the public and feature hardback books, paperbacks, magazines, CD’s and DVD’s at low prices. Donations are always welcome, so bring in your old and gently used books!

Join us for an afternoon at the movies! Most features are recent releases or popular classics. Admission is FREE; however, we do require pre-registration by the Monday prior to the movie. Show time is 1:30 p.m. Space is limited. Please call 427-6460 by the Monday prior to each movie to reserve your seat. The Community Center Plants Produce in Raised Beds
Yearly our raised beds are planted with nutritious produce. A nutritionist from the Purdue extension office teaches nutrition classes and shows us how to use the produce. Pictures above show how to pick the herbs, Chinese cabbage, and spinach.

As a Community Center volunteer, you will find satisfaction in being of service to the community, develop your interests, and make new acquaintances.
