Fort Wayne, Ind. – The following events and programs are happening the week of September 7.

Book Sale

Sept 8-10, 8 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Community Center, 233 W. Main St.

Book sales are open to the public and feature hardback books for $1, paperback books for 50¢ and DVDs for $1. Other items such as magazines, cards, VHS, CDs and puzzles are also available. Donations of these items are accepted year round.

 

Labor Day Scramble

Monday, September 7, 2 p.m.

Foster Park Golf Course, 3900 Old Mill Rd

Golfers can enjoy an 18 Hole Scramble on 4-person teams with On-Course Contests $5/person (green fees, carts additional). Tee times are all reserved, with the last tee off at 2 pm. Sign up at the Foster Park Golf Course or by calling 260-427-6735.

Big Cup Scramble

Sunday, Sept. 13, 9 a.m.

McMillen Park Golf Complex, Oxford St. at Hessen Cassel

Teams are invited to come play in this fun tournament with BIG CUPS! The 10”-12” holes almost guarantees birdies and eagles and it promises fun for all levels of players. Sign up at McMillen Park Golf Clubhouse or call 260-427-6710.

 

Trek the Trails: Covington Elementary School

Tuesday, Sept. 8, 6:10 p.m.

Covington Elementary School parking lot, 2430 W. Hamilton Rd.

Join local trail users for weekly bike rides this summer to experience Fort Wayne on 2 wheels. Participants are asked to wear helmets and bring water along for the ride. All participants ride at their own risk. Rides begin promptly at 6:10 p.m. For more information, call the City of Fort Wayne Greenways & Trails Office at 427-6228 or Fort Wayne Trails, Inc. at 969-0079.

 

Chalk It Up!

Sunday - Friday 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Promenade Park, 202 W. Superior St.

This summer, Riverfront Fort Wayne offers the opportunity to teach, learn, draw, color, plan and build with chalk as the medium and Promenade Park as the canvas. Visitors will have new opportunities to engage with neighbors—following social distancing guidelines—from 4pm-8pm. Visitors can stop by the blue Riverfront tent for instructions and supplies, and get ready to CHALK IT UP! 

 

Present Tense, Future Calm

Exhibit Open through November 15

Botanical Conservatory, 1100 S. Calhoun St.

This summer and fall, the Conservatory invites visitors to escape the turbulence of daily life when embarking on a journey and exploring a garden state of mind. All are welcome to step into our Showcase Garden, designed to help visitors pause, relax and reflect.
