Botanical Conservatory, 1100 S. Calhoun St.

Hop along at the Botanical Conservatory where you will adore happy spring blooms and the cutest little Easter animals. As part of this celebration, keep hopping from one garden to the next where you will come upon a springy craft, polka dotted plants and huntable Easter eggs as part of a special giveaway. See too if you can find all fuzzy bunny tails along the way! Regular admission fees apply. Sponsored by Majic 95.1 WAJI.

Dog Dress-Up Day

Saturday, April 3, 1-3 p.m.

Auer Lawn, Promenade Park, 202 W. Superior St.

All fashion-conscious pet lovers are invited to “unleash” their fur-pal’s sense of style at Dog Dress-Up Day to celebrate spring and show off their pets’ personalities with their fanciest neckwear or hairdo. No need to preregister; just show up to sniff some new friends and have a doggone good time. Dog owners and dogs can meet at the Auer Lawn. Note: The event area is not enclosed – participants should plan to keep dogs leashed and pick up after them.

$1 Night Insight: Colorful Koi

Thursday, April 1, 6-7 p.m.

Botanical Conservatory, 1100 S. Calhoun St.

On the first Thursday night of the month, receive discounted admission of just $1 per person and even take advantage of free parking! Also, be sure to drop in on the DNI: $1 Night Insight for a fun themed activity from 6-7 p.m. No registration required. Visit with and learn all about our scaly friends in the Tropical Garden where colorful Koi Fish reside just under the waterfall! Visitors can craft their own Koi after observing a variety of patterns and colors.

“The Tiki Bowl” Play Garden

Open through April 4, FINAL WEEK!

Botanical Conservatory, 1100 S. Calhoun St.

Find indoor tropical fun and games this winter in our family-friendly Showcase with our version of the ancient Hawaiian bowling game, ‘Ulu Maika.’ Rather than using a club or putter, players control their ball by rolling, then kicking, it towards each goal. A half-dozen greens offer challenges for players to navigate and a chance to chart the Great Polynesian Migration from Taiwan to Hawaii over thousands of years. Surrounded by lush foliage and bright colors, visitors will enjoy the fragrance of the living garden while waiting to play. Sponsored by PNC Trust, Magee-O’Connor Foundation, Howard P. Arnold Foundation and Majic 95.1.
