“Under the Big Top” Winter Showcase Exhibit

Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, 1100 South Calhoun Street
Come one, come all to the greatest circus Garden in town! The “Under the Big Top” exhibit continues at the Botanical Conservatory. Marvel at exotic topiary animals and astonishing plant oddities. This winter, everyone is invited to go to the circus and “clown around” under the Conservatory’s Botanical Big Top. Learn more at botanicalconservatory.org. A tasteful display of orchids in bloom create a delightfully intimate space in the Botanical Conservatory’s Tropical Garden. Find yourself as part of a complimentary backdrop with striking Cattleyas, fragrant Dendrobiums, dainty Oncidiums and moth-like Phalaenopsis. Orchids and other memorable plants will be available for purchase in the Conservatory Shop. It’s just the place for a date and an ideal photo opportunity with your sweetheart! This display is included with regular Conservatory admission.

A winter posting at a frontier fort was never an easy task! Soldiers had to chop wood for the fireplaces to keep warm. They had to cook their own meals. Military drills and guard duty were part of the daily duties. Visit with the soldiers and feel what it was like to live in a frontier fort during the winter.
