Yoga on the Riverfront

Sunday, May 8, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Free yoga on the Riverfront continues this spring on the second Sunday of the month inside the Park Foundation Pavilion overlooking the St. Marys River. This relaxing, one-hour flow is for all skill levels, led by instructor Chelsea Vona, owner of Discover Yoga. Yoga mats can be provided if needed.

  

Sunday Heritage Concert Series: Off Season Trio

May 8, 2:00-3:00 p.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Please join us in the Park Foundation Pavilion for a fun Mother’s Day Concert with Off Season Trio. This band plays an acoustic mix of familiar pop and rock songs spanning the 80’s through today. Off Season Trio consists of three members of the HomeBy10 Band. Concerts are free and open to all ages. Seating inside will be on a first-come first-served basis and will vary by performance.

 

Sensory Toy Workshops

Stress Ball/Aromatherapy Play Dough on Tuesday, May 10, 6:00 p.m.

Emotion Squishies/Kaleidoscope on Thursday, May 12, 6:00 p.m.

If you love beautiful sights and sounds, lovely scents and the feeling of crushing something in your hand…come join us! Craft toys to stimulate the senses, relieve anxiety and focus the mind. The sensory toys will include a squishy stress ball, aromatherapy play dough on Tuesday, and a colorful kaleidoscope and expressive squishies on Thursday. These workshops are designed for ages eight and above. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Toy instruction will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. and again at 7:00 p.m. This program is free to participants of all abilities thanks to the generosity of the AWS Foundation.  Paint with Your Pup

May 15, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Your pup is the artist in this creative activity. For a $10 registration fee, each pup will be provided with an 8x10” canvas, *paint and dog-safe sunflower butter to complete a masterpiece. Afterwards, stop by the photo booth where your dog can pose with his painting. Your dog will not be in contact with the *paint, but will be encouraged to eat the sunflower butter as part of the process. Each dog must be accompanied by at least one dog handler. If registering more than one dog, it must be under another name from your household. Please plan to keep your dog leashed, and pick up after it.  Mid-week Mellow Out

If you’re looking for physical, mental and emotional relaxation in your life, try our free restorative Yoga and Singing Bowls session. Instructor Diane Rogers of Rooted Connection will begin and end the session with sound therapy using the calming vibrations of the singing bowls. Yoga mats can be provided if needed. To experience the full benefits, it is recommended that participants bring a blanket or a towel and a pillow for comfort.

 

Sunday Heritage Concert Series: Fort Wayne Ballet

May 22, 2:00-3:00 p.m.

Old National Bank Plaza, Promenade Park, 2020 West Superior Street

Start your summer with Fort Wayne Ballet’s professional company of dancers and great music of their Firefly Tour performance in the Old National Bank Plaza. This special Sunday Heritage Concert brings a variety of amazing dance performances into the heart of our community. We encourage you to bring your own lawn chair. Concerts are free and open to all ages.
