Fort Wayne, Ind – Riverfront Fort Wayne presents the following new events and continuing programs in June:

Yoga on the Riverfront

Sunday, June 12, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Ambassador Enterprises Amphitheatre, Promenade Park 202 West Superior Street

Free yoga on the Riverfront continues on the second Sunday of the month outside in the Ambassador Enterprise Amphitheatre alongside the St. Marys River. This relaxing, one-hour flow is for all skill levels, led by instructor Chelsea Vona, owner of Discover Yoga. Yoga mats can be provided if needed.

 

Sunday Heritage Concert Series: Remember When Duets

Sunday, June 12, 2:00 p.m.

Auer Lawn, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

This harmonious brass duo presents old-time favorites from the twentieth century including Ragtime, Dixieland and Polkas with a sprinkle of historic tunes from the 1800s. Concerts are free and open to all ages. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy this outdoor performance.

 

Storytime at the Park

Wednesday June 15, and each Wednesday until August 31, 10:00-10:30 a.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion Patio, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Join the Allen County Public Library and Riverfront Fort Wayne for fresh air, sunshine and children’s literature at Promenade Park. Most dates will be held under the awning of the Park Foundation Pavilion. Drop in, it’s free!

 

 

Muddy River Concert Series: Jonah Leatherman | U.R.B

Wednesday, June 15 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Auer Lawn, Promenade Park, 2020 West Superior Street

This unique concert series centers around the themes of heritage, culture and connection. Meet the vendors and organizations focusing on activities and information on our city and its rivers. Enjoy a variety of local music at 5:30 p.m. Food trucks and beverages will be on site at 5:00 p.m. Admission is free. Sponsored by WANE-15 and 96.3 XKE Fort Wayne’s Classic Rock. 

 

 

River Rangers

Thursday June 16, and each Thursday until August 25, 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Auer Lawn, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Engage with the rivers in this one-hour outdoor learning program designed for kids ages 5-12. Each week the subject alternates between fascinating STEM and nature topics. On June 16, participants will learn how to move heavy items in the Engineering a Zipline study. On June 23, class members will explore the beneficial behavior of a river mammal in Busy Beavers. Participants can earn badges. This program is free, however space is limited to 25 children. Pop-Up Concert: The Debutants

Tuesday, June 21, 6:00 p.m.

Auer Lawn, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Connect with friends, live music and food at Promenade Park. Riverfront Fort Wayne and Trubble Brewing will host a fan favorite pop-up concert with The Debutants. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the first day of summer outdoors at the riverfront.   

 

 

Chess on the Riverfront

Sunday, June 26, Noon – 6:00 p.m.

Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

How about a game of chess? Local chess players from Fort Chess Club and Take a Stan Chess Club will offer basic instruction and friendly competition in this ancient game of kings. Sunday Heritage Concert Series: The American Legion Band of Fort Wayne

Sunday, June 26, 2:00 p.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

This 101-year-old band was started by WWI Veterans over 100 years ago and is still going strong and continues to provide music for local patriotic events. Their singer, Dottie Mac, is sure to put a smile on your face as she accompanies the band in song and dance.

 

Painting at Promenade Park

Tuesday, June 28, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Discover what happens when you mix acrylic paint, color, play and exploration and apply it to a canvas. Choose a landscape to paint and follow step by step with local impressionist artist and teacher Sarah Creason. No artistic experience is necessary.
