Fort Wayne, Ind. –The Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory at 1100 South Calhoun Street presents the following events and programs in July:

 

Paris: City of Light & Love

Now until November 13, public hours

Paris, France has long exuded romance through its iconic cityscape, art, architecture and famous riverbanks. Over time, a secluded atmosphere of cafes, lush landscapes and carefree glamour have come to define Parisian style. Catch a glimpse of a day in Paris through familiar scenes and playful hues adorning a public square in the Botanical Conservatory’s summer and fall exhibit bursting with light and love. This exhibit is included with regular admission. Sponsored by the English Bonter Mitchell Foundation, M.E. Raker Foundation, Barbara Bradley Baekgaard Family Foundation, Majic 95.1, WANE-15 and Classic Hits 101.7.

  

Bee the Change / $1 Thursdays

Thursday, July 7 and each Thursday, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

On the first Thursday of the month, a special Bee the Change activity will offer a positive reflection of self-worth and the potential for positive impact in the community beginning at 5:30 p.m. The July Bee the Change theme is “Compost 101”. No registration is required. The Conservatory admission is just $1 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. every Thursday. Plus, Civic Center Garage parking is validated for free.

 

Daylily Show

Saturday, July 9, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

On the first Saturday of the Three Rivers Festival, come soak up a cheerful array of Daylilies as one of summer’s favorite flowers. Also, meet experienced gardeners and learn more about this durable garden perennial with its diverse forms and colors on display at the Botanical Conservatory. Some are even available for purchase! Regular admission rates apply. Presented by the Fort Wayne Daylily Society.

 

Jazzworks! Concert

Sunday, July 16, 6:00 -10:00 p.m., Doors open at 5:30p.m.

Enjoy a summer’s eve at an outdoor concert featuring Los Galaxy, Lisa McDavid and Ty Causey who are turning it up with the Botanical Conservatory. Stick around too for the best view in town of the Three Rivers Festival fireworks finale! Food and beverage will be available for purchase from Mad Anthony Brewing Company; no outside food or beverage is permitted. Bring a lawn chair. All ages are welcome. Admission is $10. Sponsored by WANE-15 and 89.1 WBOI.

  

Iris Sale

Sunday, July 24, Noon -3:00 p.m.

Local Iris hobbyists return to the Botanical Conservatory for this special occasion where you can purchase rhizomes of their favorite varieties. Bring home various colors and types such as Siberian, bearded, crested and more. You will surely enjoy them for years to come in spring and early summer! Regular admission rates apply. Presented by the Northeast Indiana Iris Society.
