Storytime at the Park

Wednesday July 6, and each Wednesday until August 31, 10:00-10:30 a.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion Patio, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Join the Allen County Public Library and Riverfront Fort Wayne for fresh air, sunshine and children’s literature at Promenade Park. Most dates will be held under the awning of the Park Foundation Pavilion. Drop in, it’s free!

 

River Rangers

Thursday July 7, and each Thursday until August 25, 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Auer Lawn, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Engage with the rivers in this one-hour outdoor learning program designed for kids ages 5-12. Each week the subject alternates between fascinating STEM and nature topics. On July 14, participants will go on a treasure hunt, learn how to use a compass, and make their own map during Explorers training. On July 21, build various STEM projects with the blocks provided in the Lego Day class. On June 28, learn about bee hives, taste sweet honey, and learn what makes pollinators so important from a local beekeeper in the Buzzing Bees class. Participants can earn badges. Yoga on the Riverfront

Sunday, July 10, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Ambassador Enterprises Amphitheatre, Promenade Park 202 West Superior Street

Free yoga on the Riverfront continues on the second Sunday of the month outside in the Ambassador Enterprise Amphitheatre alongside the St. Marys River. This relaxing, one-hour flow is for all skill levels, led by instructor Chelsea Vona, owner of Discover Yoga. Yoga mats can be provided if needed.

 

Sunday Heritage Concert Series: Heartland Sings “Mobile Stage”

Sunday, July 10, 4:00 p.m.

Life is a beautiful and unpredictable adventure filled with joy and sorrow. The more life throws at us, the stronger we become, but sometimes we just want to be free and party! Heartland Sings presents an exploration of these experiences in this country music concert. Bring a lawn chair and come on out to enjoy this free, public concert from Heartland Sings’ ART-V™.

 

 Chess Tournament on the Riverfront

Sunday, July 10, Noon – 6:00 p.m.

How about a game of chess? Three Rivers Chess Club and Take a Stan Chess Club invite local chess players to compete in a tournament in this ancient game of kings. It’s free and open to all ages, abilities and skill levels. Boards will be provided, if needed. This unique concert series centers around the themes of heritage, culture and connection. Meet the vendors and organizations focusing on activities and information on our city and its rivers. Northeast Indiana Water Trails hosts the 7th annual Three Rivers Federal Credit Union: Pedal, Paddle, Play! Paddle or bike the trails on a quest to win amazing prizes and learn about the places to paddle in Northeast Indiana by solving a puzzle. 34th Annual Weigand Construction Duck Race to Benefit SCAN

Saturday, July 30, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

The SCAN Duck Race is one-of-a-kind in northern Indiana, making this fundraiser a destination event each year. More than 18,000 plastic ducks will be dropped in the St. Marys River to help raise money to support parents and protect children. SCAN’s mission is to protect children, prepare parents, strengthen families and educate our community to Stop Child Abuse and Neglect.
