Fort Wayne, Ind. – The following events and programs are happening the week of July 11-17:

 

City Pools Public Swim Hours

Northside Aquatic Center, Tuesday to Sunday, 12:30 -5:00 p.m.

Parnell Avenue and East State Blvd.

McMillen Aquatic Center, Monday to Saturday, 12:30-5:00 p.m. (will be open on Monday, July 4)

Oxford Street, East of Anthony Blvd.

A free swim for youth with disabilities will be held weekly on Saturday from 5:15 –6:15 p.m. at Northside Pool. For more information about special swim programs, lessons, season passes and pool/pavilion rentals, visit www.FortWayneParks.org.

 

Fort Wayne Area Band, An Evening with Sousa

Tuesday, July 12, 7:30 p.m.

Foellinger Theatre, 3411 Sherman Blvd.

This special concert will feature the works of John Phillip Sousa and be performed just as the Sousa band would have performed a concert. Conductor David Blackwell will be doing an authentic Sousa impersonation. Admission is free.

 

Trek the Trails Bike Ride

Tuesday, July 12, 6:00 p.m.

Turnstone, 3320 North Clinton Street

The 2022 Trek the Trails season continues on Tuesday evenings. Meet at Lot C on the north side, adjacent to Livingston Avenue for a nine mile ride. There is no cost to participate. All experience levels are welcome and participation is at your own risk. Riders are encouraged to wear helmets. Trek the Trails is sponsored by Trek Bikes Fort Wayne, Fort Wayne Harley Davidson, and UAW 2209. Sweet Breeze Weekday Morning Cruises

July 13, 10 :00 and 11:00 a.m.

South Dock, Promenade Park, 2020 West Superior Street

Explore Fort Wayne history, and muddy river lore aboard the Sweet Breeze canal boat! Reservations are now being accepted for two special weekday morning river cruises. Choose a 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. start time for a 45-minute tour on Wednesday, July 13. Tickets are $14 per person. New Millennium Jazz Orchestra

Wednesday, July 13, 7:30 p.m.

Foellinger Theatre, 3411 Sherman Blvd.

World renowned jazz trumpeter Roger Ingram joins the New Millennium Jazz Orchestra for an evening of high energy jazz standards and innovative works.

 

Storytime at the Park

Wednesday July 13, and each Wednesday until August 31, 10:00-10:30 a.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion Patio, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Join the Allen County Public Library and Riverfront Fort Wayne for fresh air, sunshine and children’s literature at Promenade Park. Most dates will be held under the awning of the Park Foundation Pavilion. Drop in, it’s free!

 

Muddy River Concert Series: Addison Agen | Roll Cage Mary

Wednesday, July 13, 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Auer Lawn, Promenade Park, 2020 West Superior Street

This unique concert series centers around the themes of heritage, culture and connection. Meet the vendors and organizations focusing on activities and information on our city and its rivers. Enjoy a variety of local music at 5:30 p.m. Food trucks and beverages will be on site at 5:00 p.m. Admission is free. Sponsored by WANE-15 and 96.3 XKE Fort Wayne’s Classic Rock.

Wisla Song & Dance Ensemble

Thursday, July 14, 7:30 p.m.

Foellinger Theatre, 3411 Sherman Blvd.

The Wisła Folk Song and Dance Ensemble from Fort Wayne's Sister City of Płock, Poland will perform in Fort Wayne, Indiana. See the free performance. at the Foellinger Theatre. This is your chance to experience a Polish dance group perform live in Indiana!

Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, 1100 South Calhoun Street

The Conservatory admission is just $1 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. every Thursday. Plus, Civic Center Garage parking is validated for free.

 

Sweet Breeze Special Evening Cruises

Friday, July 15, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00p.m.
