Concert on the Farm

Sunday, August 21, 5:00-7:00p.m., gates will open at 4:00 p.m.

Salomon Farm Park, 817 West Dupont Road

Bring your lawn chairs or a blanket and enjoy an evening of live music in a beautiful country setting. Hear local musicians, Cassie Beer from Rosalind and the Way (Americana), Rogues & Bandits (alternative rock with a blues rock/folk twist) and the Debutants (string band with strong rock and roll influence). Food and alcohol will be available for purchase from Mad Anthony Brewing. (Limited seating inside the barn). Sponsored by 103.9 Wayne FM.

 

Trek the Trails Bike Ride

Tuesday, August 23, 6:00 p.m.

Turnstone, 3320 North Clinton Street

The 2022 Trek the Trails season continues on Tuesday evenings. Meet at Lot C on the north side of Turnstone, adjacent to Livingston Avenue for a choice between a 2.5 or a four mile ride. There is no cost to participate. All experience levels are welcome and participation is at your own risk. Riders are encouraged to wear helmets. Trek the Trails is sponsored by Trek Bikes Fort Wayne, Fort Wayne Harley Davidson, and UAW 2209. Storytime at the Park

Wednesday, August 24, and each Wednesday until August 31, 10:00-10:30 a.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion Patio, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Join the Allen County Public Library and Riverfront Fort Wayne for fresh air, sunshine and children’s literature at Promenade Park. Most dates will be held under the awning of the Park Foundation Pavilion. Drop in, it’s free!

 

Muddy River Concert Series: Abbie Thomas | JacksonVibe

Wednesday, August 24, 5:00-00:00 p.m.

Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

This unique free concert series centers around the themes of heritage, culture and connection. Meet the vendors and organizations focusing on activities and information on our city and its rivers. Enjoy local music at 5:30 p.m. Food trucks and beverages will be on site at 5:00 p.m. Admission is free. The Calm Water Sensory Tent will be available from 5:00-8:00p.m. Sponsored by WANE-15 and 96.3 XKE Fort Wayne’s Classic Rock.

Salomon Farm Park U-pick Flowers

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday, 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

U-Pick flower fields are now available!. U-pick Sunflowers, Zinnias and other flowers will be available to pick your own fresh bouquet on Wednesdays during the Farmers’ Market and on Thursdays and Fridays at the same hours. Saturday u-pick hours are longer, from 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Prices vary per type of flower. Follow the signs to find the U-Pick fields near the Heritage Barn. Food trucks will be available on site on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

 

River Rangers

Thursday, August 25, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Auer Lawn, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Incorporate some outdoor learning into your child’s summer experience at the Riverfront. On August 25, participants can become weather  Rangers. Today’s forecast will predict a lesson on weather, meteorology and extreme storms with a 100% chances of games and weather experiments. River Rangers will earn a Young Naturalist Badge. Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, 1100 South Calhoun Street

Catch a glimpse of a day in Paris: City of Light & Love in the showcase garden along with the Tropical and Desert gardens in the Conservatory. Admission is just $1 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. every Thursday. Plus, Civic Center Garage parking is validated for free. The showcase exhibit is sponsored by Majic 95.1, WANE-15 and Classic Hits 101.7.

 

Weeknight Sweet Breeze Cruises

Thursday, August 25, 6:00-7:00p.m. (60 minute) and 7:15-8:15 p.m. (60 minute)

South Dock, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Explore Fort Wayne history, and muddy river lore aboard the Sweet Breeze canal boat! Tickets are $20 for a 60-minute cruise. Reservations can be made at http://www.RideSweetBreeze.org or by calling 260-427-6000 during regular business hours.

 

Weekend Sweet Breeze Cruises

Saturday, August 27 and Sunday August 28, 1:00p.m. (90 minute), 2:45 p.m. (45 minute), 3:45 pm. (90 minute), 5:30 p.m.(45 minute)

South Dock, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Travel Fort Wayne’s rivers on Sweet Breeze, an authentic 1840 canal boat replica. This fully accessible tour provides an opportunity to learn something new about Fort Wayne through its riverfront. Choose 90 minute or a 45 minute cruise options on weekends. Tickets are $27 per person for a 90-minute cruise, and $17 per person for 45-minute cruise. Chess on the Riverfront

How about a game of chess? Join local players and chess clubs at Promenade Park for some friendly competition or basic instruction. It’s free and open to the public. -Sunday, August 28 3:30-4:30 p.m., The Fort Wayne Philharmonic Players’ Association

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

The talented musicians of the Philharmonic Players’ Association return with a program of classical and pops music that is sure to please all music lovers. Non-perishable food donations are being accepted at this community event. Guests are invited to bring a lawn chair to listen from outside the Park Foundation Pavilion.
