Fort Wayne, Ind. – The following events and programs are happening the week of September 5-11:

 

Splash Pads and Promenade Water Rill Open until further notice

Daily, 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.

Nine locations around the city of Fort Wayne

Buckner Park (6114 Bass Road), Franklin School Park (1903 Saint Marys Avenue), Kreager Park/Taylor’s Dream (7225 North River Road), McCormick Park (2300 Raymond Avenue), Memorial Park (2301 Maumee Avenue), Promenade Park (202 W. Superior Street), Robert E. Meyers Park (Inside North Gate of Parkview Field on Jefferson Blvd.), Shoaff Park ( 6401 St. Joe Road) and Waynedale Park (2900 Koons Street).

 

Beginning September 6, fees will be reduced at City Golf Courses.

Trek the Trails Bike Ride

Tuesday, September 6, 6:00 p.m.

Deer Ridge Elementary School, 1515 S. Scott Road

The 2022 Trek the Trails season continues on Tuesday evenings. Meet in the school parking log for a six mile ride. There is no cost to participate. All experience levels are welcome and participation is at your own risk. Riders are encouraged to wear helmets. Trek the Trails is sponsored by Trek Bikes Fort Wayne, Fort Wayne Harley Davidson, and UAW 2209. Salomon Farmers’ Market

Wednesday, September 7, 4:00-7:00 p.m. (final for season)

Salomon Farm Park, 817 West Dupont Road

Find fresh produce, baked goods, honey, homemade pies and artisan goods from local growers and makers. Tractor rides will be available for $5 per person and the Shepherd’s Brass Quintet will entertain all who attend.

 

 

Salomon Farm Park U-pick Flowers

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday, 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

U-Pick flower fields are available through early October!. U-pick Sunflowers, Zinnias and giant Marigolds will be available to pick your own fresh bouquet on Wednesday-Fridays from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday U-pick hours are longer, from 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Prices vary per type of flower. Follow the signs to find the U-Pick fields near the Heritage Barn. Food trucks will be available on site on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, 1100 South Calhoun Street

Catch a glimpse of a day in Paris: City of Light & Love in the showcase garden along with the Tropical and Desert gardens in the Conservatory. Admission is just $1 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. every Thursday. Plus, Civic Center Garage parking is validated for free.

 

 

Weekend Sweet Breeze Cruises

Travel Fort Wayne’s rivers on Sweet Breeze, an authentic 1840 canal boat replica. This fully accessible tour provides an opportunity to learn something new about Fort Wayne through its riverfront. Choose 90 minute or a 45 minute cruise options on weekends. Tickets are $27 per person for a 90-minute cruise, and $17 per person for 45-minute cruise. Free Yoga on the Riverfront

This free, relaxing one-hour flow yoga class is for all skill levels and lead by owner of Discover Yoga, Chelsea Vona. Bring your own yoga mat to Promenade Park or borrow one for the class.

 

 

Be A Tourist in Your Own Hometown

Sunday, September 11, noon to 5:00 p.m.

Various downtown Fort Wayne locations

Twenty-three amazing Fort Wayne attractions will welcome visitors for free activities and programs in this popular annual event made possible by Visit Fort Wayne. In the parks you can visit the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory and surround yourself with nature and vignettes of the “Paris: City of Light & Love” showcase exhibit. Also featured will be live music from “Those Two Guys in Suits & Ties”  on the outdoor terrace from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Riverfront Fort Wayne will host games of cornhole, ping pong and foosball in the outdoor games area and sidewalk chalk art in the Ambassador Enterprise Amphitheatre. Don’t miss a chance to explore the new city views from the Parkview Tree Canopy Trail, splash around in the Doermer Kids Canal, and have fun in the PNC Playground. Sunday Heritage Concert Series

Sunday, September 11,  2:00-3:00 p.m., American Legion Band of Fort Wayne “Grandparents Day Show”

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park, 2020 West Superior Street

Founded over a hundred years ago in Fort Wayne by veterans of World War I, the American Legion Band has energetic members who enjoy playing their instruments to entertain a crowd. Directed by Eli Arnold, this lively band will play a selection of marches, popular show tunes, classic big band, and swing music from the 20th century. Concerts are free and open to all ages. Indoor seating will be on a first come first served basis.
