Sweet Breeze Season Kickoff Open House
Friday, May 26, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
South Dock, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street
Kick off the new season! Come down to the dock at Promenade and get to know Sweet Breeze the night before tours start! Step on board and look around, meet the crew, pick up schedules and brochures from an info booth and enjoy live music by local musician Brett Welch! This is a free event that is open to the public.

Travel Fort Wayne’s rivers on Sweet Breeze, an authentic 1840 canal boat replica. This fully accessible tour provides an opportunity to learn something new about Fort Wayne through its riverfront. Choose 90 minute or 45 minute cruise options on weekends. Tickets are $30 per person for a 90-minute cruise, and $20 per person for 45-minute cruise. Iris Flower Show

Enjoy the best of this year’s blooms when visiting with members of the Northeast Indiana Iris Society, a local group of gardeners with a growing passion for Irises. Country superstars Gary Allan and Tracy Lawrence will stop in Fort Wayne on their co-headlining tour spanning eight states in two weeks. The tour from the two hitmakers recalls 30 years of some of Country’s greatest era-defining hits. Though Allan and Lawrence have both shared radio waves and immense respect for each other throughout their careers, this upcoming multi-state tour represents the first time fans will get to see both do full sets on the same stage. Sweet Breeze Specialty Tour: Sounds of the Rivers

Listen to live music on the Sweet Breeze Canal Boat, brought to you by Ohio-based band LaDean. Soulful vocals by Jasmine Moore are accompanied by Jordan Extine on guitar. Family Fishing Day

Take advantage of Indiana DNR’s Free Fishing Days at Promenade Park! Poles and lessons on fishing will be provided for the whole family on the North Dock. Drop a line and stay awhile. No experience is needed. All fishing equipment will be provided on a first come, first served basis.
Kids’ Fishing Derby
Saturday, June 3, 8:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m.
Hurshtown Reservoir, 16000 Roth Road, Grabill
Fishing is a favorite Hoosier pastime that fosters patience, coordination and an appreciation for nature. Please join us for the 35th Annual Kids’ Fishing Derby at the pristine Hurshtown Reservoir. The derby is open to children ages 16 and younger. An adult must accompany all contestants. Prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish caught in five categories (by age). Each participant may enter only one fish. The grand prize will go to the child that catches the biggest fish overall. On-site registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Fishing begins at 8:00 a.m. and continues until the weigh-in at 11:00 a.m.. Awards will be at 11:30 a.m. Contestants must be present to win. You will need to supply your own bait, tackle and bucket to hold your fish. Because this is a free fishing day, no fishing licenses are required! This contest is catch and release only. Admission to Hurshtown is $5 per car. The derby is free to participate.
Dance Promenade and Tulip Tree Present: Ecstatic Dance

The Full Moon Ecstatic Dance, put on by the Tulip Tree Production Team, is a 90-minute freeform movement journey facilitated by a professional DJ. Lose yourself to the rhythm and move freely wherever the music takes you. Join us on the Auer Lawn for this FREE community event.

Live butterflies have landed at the Botanical Conservatory bringing with them an array of natural beauty and wonder. Watch in awe, their wings in flight, as they flash with color pigments and refracted light. Observe exotic butterflies emerging from their chrysalides right before your eyes! An epic display of multicolored flowers and foliage elevates this annual spring exhibit. Sponsored by English Bonter Mitchell Foundation, Ian and Mimi Rolland Foundation, The Waterfield Foundation, “In memory of Jo Ann and William Wyatt,” 97.3 WMEE and 21Alive.
Trek the Trails

The 2023 Trek the Trails season continues on Tuesday evenings. Meet at Franke Park for a 7.3 mile bike ride. There is no cost to participate. All experience levels are welcome and participation is at your own risk. Riders are encouraged to wear helmets. Trek the Trails is sponsored by TREK Bicycles, Freedom Cycle, VS Engineering, UAW Local #2209, and Three Rivers Velo Sport. The City of Fort Wayne, Fort Wayne Trails, and the Fort Wayne Running Club present Tread the Trails. These 5k walks/runs are offered every other Thursday. All mobility aids are welcome at Tread the Trails, and participants are encouraged to lengthen/shorten the route as preferred.
