What’s Happening at the Riverfront

The Month Ahead

 

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Riverfront Fort Wayne presents the following events and programs in July:

 

Registrations underway for Fort Wayne Dragon Boat teams until July 16!

Friday, August 4, 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Saturday, August 5, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Promenade Park, 2020 West Superior Street

On August 4 and 5, Riverfront Fort Wayne will bring Dragon Boat Races back to Promenade Park for an exciting two-day celebration of culture and competition! The races which originated in China are bringing residents together on the St. Marys river in Fort Wayne for teamwork, strategy and glory. Friday evening opens the event from with live music, local food, and traditional dancing performed by the Chinese Friends and Family Association followed by floating fire pits. Muddy River Concert Series

Wednesdays, July 5 and 19, 7:00 p.m.

Enjoy live local music on the Riverfront from The Distractions on July 5, and Austin Bridges on July 19.

 

 

River Rangers

Wednesdays, 10:00-11:00 a.m., July 5 – July 26

Auer Lawn, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

River Rangers (ages 5-12) are invited to an hour of fascinating outdoor learning of STEM on every Wednesday in July. Topics of exploration include Butterflies, Secret Messages, Bugs and the Moon in July. Each program is free, however, space is limited to 30 children, so pre-registration is required. Registration deadlines are the Monday prior to each date.

 

 

Storytime at the Park

Wednesdays, 10:00-10:30 a.m., July 5 – August 2

Park Foundation Pavilion Patio Promenade Park, 202 W. Superior Street

Join the Allen County Public Library and Riverfront Fort Wayne on Wednesday mornings for fresh air, sunshine and children’s literature at Promenade Park. Most dates will be held under the awning of the Park Foundation Pavilion. No pre-registration is required.

 

 

Yoga on the Riverfront

Sunday, July 9, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

This free, relaxing one-hour flow yoga class is for all skill levels and led by owner of Discover Yoga, Chelsea Vona. Bring your own yoga mat to Promenade Park or borrow one for the class.

 

 

Sunday Heritage Concert Series: J and Q Variety Show: Blues and Funk

Sunday, July 9, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Concerts are free and open to all ages. Seating will be on a first come first served basis.
