Feather Fest

Saturday, September 30, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Lindenwood Nature Preserve, 600 Lindenwood Avenue

Fly to Lindenwood Nature Preserve for a free family-fun birding festival. Explore up to four hiking trails with guides and watch for over 70 bird species. Special crafts and activities will thrill kids and Soarin’ Hawk returns to inform and entertain with their birds.

Botanical Brew

Friday, October 6, 4:00-9:00p.m.

Foellinger-Friemann Botanical Conservatory, 1100 South Calhoun Street

Meet your friends downtown at the Botanical Conservatory for a sampling of all things brewed. Your taste buds are sure to relish local favorites as you sample coffee, tea, cider, craft beer, and wine. Wander the gardens and enjoy featured food truck fare and entertainers busking throughout. Packaged beverages will also be available for purchase. No outside food or beverage is permitted. Botanical Brew is sponsored by 89.1 WBO1, WANE 15, and Fort Wayne Metals. All ages are welcome! Admission is $10 per person.

 

 

Community Vaccine Clinic

Monday, October 2, 10:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.

Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Community Center, 233 West Main Street

Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation in partnership with the Aging and Disability Vaccination Collaborative and other local organizations will host a vaccination clinic and health fair for those age 18 and above. A number of immunizations will be available including Shingles, Pneumonia, Flu and COVID-19. No registration is necessary; however, participants are asked to bring an I.D. and insurance card. If transportation is needed, please call 260-427-6780 to make arrangements. Those who take part are encouraged to stay for games and food as well.

 

Yoga on the Riverfront

This free, relaxing one-hour flow yoga class is designed for all skill levels and led by owner of Discover Yoga, Chelsea Vona. Bring your own yoga mat to Promenade Park or borrow one for the class.

 

 

Intro to Hula Hoop Dance

Sunday, October 8, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Join Julia Hyndman in this hula hoop workshop for beginners. This free all-ages class will cover the basics to begin your hula hoop journey. Sunday Heritage Concert Series

Sunday, October 8, 2:00–3:00 p.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

The American Legion Band of Fort Wayne presents a Polka Fest program. Concerts are free and open to all ages. Seating will be on a first come first served basis.

Saturday, October 7, 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. (90-minute tour), 2:45 -3:30 p.m. (45-minute tour)

South Dock Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Travel Fort Wayne’s rivers on Sweet Breeze, an authentic 1840 canal boat replica. This fully accessible tour provides an opportunity to learn something new about Fort Wayne through its riverfront. Choose 90 minute or 45 minute cruise options. Tickets are $30 per person for a 90-minute cruise, and $20 per person for 45-minute cruise. An Herban Garden Showcase Exhibit

Foellinger Freimann Botanical Conservatory, 1100 South Calhoun Street

Digest the community impact of urban gardening and see herbs that flourish, mushrooms that thrive and rooftops that grow. Forage some more to discover dynamic graffiti art and container gardens accompanying uptown views from your local stoop. It’s a beautiful season in theneighborhood at the Botanical Conservatory’s own herban garden. Sponsored by: the English Bonter Mitchell Foundation, Waterfield Foundation and WANE 15.

 

 

Salomon Farm Park U-pick Flowers

Wednesday and Friday, 4:00–7:00 p.m. and Saturday, 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.

Salomon Farm Park, 817 West Dupont Road

U-Pick flower fields are available on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays while flowers are blooming. Prices vary per type; $2 per sunflower and $1 per other stem. Follow the signs and look for the “red barn” trailer for supplies and checkout.
