PODS Programs Beginning Soon!

The all new Summer Activity P.O.D.S. are designed for safety, social distance and FUN!  These week-long, half-day programs are designed to keep children active and engaged while maybe learning something new. Program coordinators are committed to maintaining a safe, clean and healthy environment and will be monitoring kids and leaders each day. Registration deadlines are one week prior to each POD.

Youth Center Virtual Programs

Starting June 3, 10 am – 5pm

Register online at FortWayneParks.org

Offered by the teams at Cooper, Jennings, McMillen Park, and Weisser Park Youth Centers, these programs are open to youth aged 5 – 18. Kids can learn more about art, fitness, dance, nutrition and more in a safe, online environment from the comfort of their home.

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation will be opening several city recreation facilities as part of Stage 3 of Governor Holcomb’s Back on Track plan. On May 22, the following facilities will be available to the public:

  • Johnny Appleseed Campground (OPENING MAY 24)
  • Lawton Skate Park
  • Hurshtown Reservoir
  • All athletic courts (tennis, basketball, futsal, pickleball courts)
  • Athletic fields open for practice
  • All Park Restrooms

Families visiting the parks are asked to maintain proper social distancing to keep these facilities safe for all who are using them.

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department has cancelled all weeks of the Franke Park Day Camp and Salomon Farm Park Farm Camp for 2020, in response to the ongoing response to the COVID-19 crisis.

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department is postponing the opening of the 2020 Foellinger Theatre Concert Season until August 1. New dates for shows scheduled in June and July are currently being discussed with bands and promoters, and once those dates are available, they will be published online at FoellingerTheatre.org and on the Foellinger Theatre Facebook page.
