Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Fort Wayne City Utilities and Parks and Recreation departments have partnered with local artist Andre Portee to create a new mural project on the basketball court of Carl O’Neal Memorial Park which sits adjacent to a Three Rivers Water Filtration Plant pump station.
Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department officially unveiled the new covered walking bridge at Salomon Farm Park on Tuesday morning. Parks and Recreation Director Steve McDaniel and the family of the late Don Wolf cut the ribbon on the new structure, which is located on the south side of Salomon Farm Park, near Till Road.

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department is still accepting registrations for after-school programs at the three Community Youth Centers: Weisser Park, Jennings, and Cooper Centers. The programs begin Thursday, August 13, in conjunction with the beginning of the Fort Wayne Community Schools academic year, and will be held Monday-Thursday afternoons from 3 – 7 p.m. and Fridays 3 – 5 p.m. when school is in session. Students must be registered to participate.

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation and Riverfront Fort Wayne are celebrating the first year of Promenade Park at “River, Set, Go!” on Saturday, August 8. Visitors are invited to enjoy an afternoon and evening of activities along the river in Fort Wayne’s 87th park, starting at 2 p.m. with Floating Yoga instructors on the Amphitheatre steps. At 4:30 p.m., everyone can enjoy some fun and simple games on the water. A Paddle Parade will start at 7 p.m. from Guldlin Park to Promenade Park, and a special firepit finale at 9:30 p.m. will end the anniversary celebration in style.
